The newly-introduced electric G-Class establishes new benchmarks for off-road performance. Powered by four electric motors individually positioned near the wheels, it delivers a combined maximum output of 432 kW. Coupled with the selectable LOW RANGE off-road gear reduction, these motors facilitate distinctive driving dynamics and exclusive functionalities. This includes the G-TURN feature, which enables the vehicle to execute nearly stationary turns on loose or unpaved surfaces. Additionally, the G-STEERING function significantly reduces the turning radius during off-road maneuvers. The three-speed intelligent off-road crawl function acts as a form of cruise control tailored for off-road driving, ensuring optimal propulsion while allowing the driver to concentrate on navigating challenging terrains.
Similar to its proven counterparts, the all-new Mercedes-Benz G 580 equipped with EQ Technology boasts a climbing ability of up to 100% on suitable surfaces. It maintains stability on sideways slopes of up to 35 degrees and offers a maximum fording depth of 850 millimeters, surpassing conventional G-Class models by 150 millimeters. The LOW RANGE off-road gearing enhances propulsion with a specialized reduction ratio. Moreover, the new model employs intelligent torque vectoring to replicate the functionality of traditional differential locks. Adding to the experience, the G-ROAR feature introduces a distinctive sound signature to the electric G-Class, including a characteristic driving sound, an “aura” sound, and various “event” sounds.

Continuing the legacy of the design icon, the all-new G 580 equipped with EQ Technology remains faithful to the timeless lineage. Instantly recognizable as part of the enduring family heritage, the electric G-Class showcases a distinctive exterior, highlighted by an optional black-panel radiator grille. Setting it apart from its conventionally powered counterparts are several unique features, such as a subtly raised bonnet and rear wheel-arch flares adorned with “air curtains,” along with a design box positioned at the rear. These elements, combined with new A-pillar cladding and a roof spoiler lip, not only enhance its aesthetic appeal but also contribute to improved aerodynamics.
