The Italian State Police has a new addition to its fleet of high-performance vehicles: the Lamborghini Urus Performante. This unique model of the Super SUV is not only designed for speed and agility, but also for organ transport and special services. It was presented in Rome on December 12, 2023, as part of the twenty-year collaboration between Automobili Lamborghini and the Italian “Polizia di Stato”.
The Urus Performante is the sixth Lamborghini model to enter into the Highway Police service, following the Huracán LP610-4. It will be used for urgent medical missions, such as delivering organs and plasma to hospitals in need. The Super SUV is equipped with a portable fridge in the trunk, which monitors the internal temperature of the organs and ensures their viability. It also has a defibrillator, an armored weapon box, and a flip-down message display for communication.
The exterior of the Lamborghini Urus Performante is customized according to the police specifications, with a blue and white livery, tricolor bands, reflective logos, and a light bar with blue LED lights. The interior is fitted with a two-tone electric siren, a radio system, and a video camera. The Super SUV is powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine that delivers 666 CV of power and 850 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 306 km/h. It also boasts the best driving dynamics in its class, as proven by its record-breaking time of 10:32.064 on the Pikes Peak Hillclimb in 2022.
The Urus Performante is a testament to the excellence and innovation of Automobili Lamborghini, as well as its close ties with Italy.
