Variants
Suzuki might launch the Jimny EV in both three-door and five-door versions. The three-door variant is expected to come first for the European market, followed by the five-door for India and other regions.
Battery and Range
The battery size is also unconfirmed, but it could be around 60kWh, similar to the one used in the Suzuki eVX concept car. This could translate to a range of around 200-250 kilometers on a single charge.
Performance
Performance details are scarce, but we can expect the Jimny EV to have a focus on off-road capability rather than raw speed. It might have electric motors on both axles for good all-wheel-drive performance.
Price
The price tag is also under wraps, but it’s safe to assume the Jimny EV will be more expensive than the gasoline-powered model. Estimates in India range from 14 lakh to 18 lakh rupees (approximately $17,000 to $22,000 USD).
Design
The design of the Jimny EV is expected to be similar to the petrol model, but with some EV-specific tweaks. The official preview image released suggests that it will retain its distinctive two-box silhouette, 5-slat grille and squat proportions. The new star-shaped headlights, however, hint at a subtle redesign.
