2025 Toyota Camry with next-level Hybrid Performance unveiled

Elevating its legacy, the Toyota Camry steps into its ninth generation boasting a refreshed aesthetic, improved performance, and an exclusively Hybrid powertrain designed for dynamic mobility. Crafted and manufactured in the U.S., the 2025 Toyota Camry enhances every aspect cherished by drivers in the current best-selling U.S. sedan – delivering more power, stunning aesthetics, feature-rich convenience, and agile handling. As a pivotal component of Toyota’s commitment to electrification for all, the new Toyota Camry 2025 emerges as a dedicated Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), providing a blend of potent performance and fuel efficiency, ready to conquer daily journeys.

The Camry is powered by Toyota’s first-ever sedan combination of a 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder engine and the fifth-generation Toyota Hybrid System (THS 5). Merging the engine’s output with two electric motors, this dynamic Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) achieves a standard 225 net combined horsepower for Front Wheel Drive (FWD) models and 232HP for Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive (AWD) equipped models. Engineers at Toyota have fine-tuned the new HEV system for lower speeds, reducing engine RPMs and increasing power from the traction battery to deliver satisfying acceleration and torque. The Toyota Camry proudly adopts the “Beyond Zero” badge, symbolizing Toyota’s unwavering commitment to carbon emission reduction and its vision for a carbon-neutral future.

Making its debut on the Camry Hybrid, Toyota introduces the Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system, now accessible across all grades. Offering enhanced reassurance, this AWD system ensures additional traction in challenging conditions, such as inclement weather or cornering. The system’s expertise stems from a specialized rear electric drive motor generator, automatically delivering power to the rear wheels as required.

Streamlined Ninth Generation Camry:

Crafted by CALTY’s studios in Newport Beach, California, and Ann Arbor, Michigan, the ninth-generation Camry introduces a more aerodynamic and athletic aesthetic to the popular sedan. The unique hammerhead front fascia contributes to a clean and modern appearance that is bound to capture attention. Slim LED headlights, daytime running lights, and taillights will adorn all grades, completing the sophisticated look.

The SE and XSE trims showcase a sporty exterior design characterized by a streamlined roofline and a well-defined, sculpted body. These sport-oriented grades incorporate functional aerodynamic air ducts, front-side canards, and a rear diffuser for a racing-inspired aesthetic. The rear features an exposed dual-tip exhaust and a rear lip spoiler, enhancing the overall sporty appeal. The XSE goes a step further with a distinct color-matched front grille and a black trunk garnish. Both SE and XSE models boast stand-out aesthetics with standard 18-inch multi-spoke black-finished alloy wheels for SE grades and 19-inch multi-spoke black and smoke gray-finished alloy wheels for the XSE, setting them apart from their peers.

Available exterior color options include newly introduced Ocean Gem and Heavy Metal, joining popular Camry choices such as Ice Cap, Wind Chill Pearl, Celestial Silver Metallic, Underground, Midnight Black Metallic, Supersonic Red, and Reservoir Blue. The XSE grades offer a two-tone option, combining Ocean Gem, Wind Chill Pearl, Heavy Metal, and Supersonic Red with a Midnight Black Metallic roof.

Open-Style Cockpit:

Infused with the superb craftsmanship of the Camry, the contemporary open-concept design and premium materials create a distinctive interior experience for each grade.

Starting with the sport grades, the SE boasts SofTex-trimmed seats featuring bold white accents in either Boulder or Black, while the XSE elevates the experience with a standard leather-trimmed interior showcasing artistic “shooting blade” patterned perforations on both the side door trim and seating surfaces. The XSE interior offers a choice between Black with blue-lined perforations or the popular Cockpit Red. Both the SE and XSE grades feature standard aluminum sport pedals and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters.

The comfort grades express their own distinctive interior character. The LE showcases a thoughtfully designed interior inspired by ocean waves, featuring an embossed pattern in woven fabric on the interior trim and seat surfaces in either Boulder or Black. Moving up to the higher-end XLE grade, it becomes the first Toyota Camry to introduce leather and Dinamica microfiber-trimmed seats, available in Light Gray or Black. A quilted pattern in this material can also be found on the front door panels and dashboard.

The Camry elevates seat comfort with modifications to the seat cushion’s shape, density, and increased length, coupled with a softer, rearward-adjusted headrest for an enhanced seating and riding experience. The XLE and XSE grades extend this comfort with optional front heated and ventilated seats adjustable to three levels. These premium grades also ensure a quieter cabin through standard front-side acoustic laminated glass, effectively reducing wind noise and harshness.

Setting the convenience standard, the next-generation Camry includes a smart-key with a push-to-start button and a dual-zone automatic climate control system with rear air vents. Catering to households with multiple drivers, the XLE grade offers an available driver’s memory seat and memory side view mirrors. Adding to convenience, the XLE features automatic rain-sensing windshield wipers. Breaking new ground for the Camry Hybrid, the XLE and XSE grades introduce the option of a power tilt and slide panoramic roof with a power-retractable sunshade.

Under the Hood:

The new Camry is equipped with the fifth-generation Toyota Hybrid System (THS 5), providing a driving experience that is both controllable and engaging. This system utilizes lighter and more compact electric motors, delivering increased power and enhanced performance compared to the previous hybrid system. When combined with Toyota’s Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system, THS 5 achieves a net combined horsepower of 232 – a significant 30 horsepower boost compared to the current generation with a mechanical All-Wheel Drive system.

The Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system has been seamlessly integrated with the hybrid system. This electronically controlled AWD ensures precise front-rear torque distribution on demand, adjusting to driving conditions for optimal start-off acceleration, handling, fuel efficiency, and stability on slippery surfaces like snow.

The Camry features a retuned suspension that heightens responsiveness and agility, providing an exhilarating experience on winding roads. Sport grades come with a dedicated sport-tuned suspension that enhances comfort while delivering superior stability, handling, and driver confidence.

Advanced Technology Features:

In the 2025 Camry, LE and SE models now come standard with a 7-inch digital gauge cluster, while the XLE and XSE grades boast a standard 12.3-inch fully digital gauge cluster. Additionally, the XLE and XSE grades offer an optional 10-inch Head-Up Display, providing drivers with real-time information such as speed, warning indicators, and turn-by-turn navigation.

The Toyota Audio Multimedia System is equipped with either a standard 8-inch touchscreen display or an available 12.3-inch screen. This system includes standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, seamlessly integrating with the standard Qi wireless charging pad. Across all grades, the Camry provides a standard combination of USB-A and USB-C ports, with three in the front and two in the rear.

Access to an array of enhanced connectivity features is available, including simultaneous dual Bluetooth phone connectivity through Toyota Audio Multimedia. A Wi-Fi Connect trial/subscription offers 4G connectivity for up to five devices (30-day/3GB trial included).

Interactive Connectivity Features:

Through an active Drive Connect trial or subscription, Camry drivers can engage with the system using both touch and voice activation. The Intelligent Assistant, accessible via Drive Connect, responds to simple phrases like “Hey Toyota,” awakening the system for voice-activated commands such as searching for directions, locating Points of Interest (POI), adjusting audio controls, changing cabin temperatures, and more. Over-the-Air (OTA) updates will also be accessible.

Expanding on the extensive audio playback options, which include HD Radio, USB data, and a SiriusXM Platinum Plan 3-month trial subscription, Integrated Streaming allows the linking of separate Apple Music and Amazon Music subscriptions to the vehicle for onboard control. For those seeking premium audio experiences during commutes, the Camry offers an optional nine-speaker JBL Premium Audio system upgrade.

The Camry also offers additional connected services. The up to 10-year Safety Connect trial incorporates an Emergency Assistance Button (SOS), 24/7 Enhanced Roadside Assistance, Automatic Collision Notification, and Stolen Vehicle Locator. The up to 10-year Service Connect trial provides drivers with Vehicle Health Reports, Maintenance Alerts, and reminders.

For XLE and XSE grades, a Digital Key is available. With an active Remote Connect trial or subscription, drivers can use the Digital Key via the Toyota app, allowing passive entry unlock on front doors and trunk or push start in-cabin using a smartphone as the key.
