2024 Hyundai Elantra N brings Motorsport-inspired Performance and Design

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra N got an upgrade with advanced technology inspired by motorsports. This makes the car perform better with improved stability and comfort. The Elantra N was first introduced in 2021 and has become a popular choice for people who love sporty sedans. This has also boosted Hyundai N’s reputation in the U.S. The updated Elantra N will start arriving at dealerships in January 2024.

The new Elantra N comes with improved technology from motorsports, providing better handling, increased safety, and more comfort. It aims to offer an exciting driving experience based on three key elements of N-vehicle development: Corner Rascal, Racetrack Capability and Everyday Sportscar.

2024 Hyundai Elantra N Refreshed Features:

Improvements inspired by motorsports

Motorsports-derived upgrades make the car more comfortable and safer, and they also make it perform better. Changes to how the car rides and handles include making the engine mount stronger to reduce shaking and make the car more nimble. The G-bushing has been reinforced to improve how the car turns and steers precisely. Additionally, the new rear-suspension S/ABS insulator support now uses urethane instead of rubber, which helps the car handle bumps better and respond more smoothly when turning. The Electronic Controlled Suspension (ECS) has new software that’s been adjusted to work well with these hardware improvements.

Hyundai engineers have made the steering system better by improving the tolerance in the gearbox, which helps you feel the steering more directly. They also added a new, smoother joint to make the steering more precise. The motor-driven power-steering system, has new software has been optimized to work with the updated chassis and steering changes.

Hyundai has also changed the wheels of the 2024 Elantra N to be lighter, which makes the performance sedan handle better and gives a more comfortable ride. The new wheels are 33 pounds lighter than the old ones. Tire pressures at the front and back have also increased to handle the extra load at the front axles without messing up the balance of how the car rides and handles.

The upgraded Elantra N now cools better without sacrificing aerodynamic efficiency. To boost cooling, a duct-style air guard guides airflow more effectively to the radiator, enhancing aerodynamics, efficiency, and cooling in tough conditions. A new front-bumper air guide, inspired by motorsports, improves braking by directing air right over the brakes, helping to dissipate heat. The braking system gets an extra boost from improved Electronic Stability Control (ESC) software and added thermal protection on the front brake lines for better durability.

The 2.0T direct-injected engine in the new Elantra N was specifically designed for N models. It can be paired with either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. This combination is expected to provide around 276 horsepower and 289 lb.-ft. of torque to the front wheels.

Sporty Appearance Inspired by Motorsports

The 2024 Elantra N showcases an upgraded black trim on the front. When paired with the more pronounced bumper design and updated headlights, this new style creates a dynamic and aggressive front end that reflects the high-performance essence of the N brand.

The front and rear bumpers, along with the side sill moldings, boast N-specific red trim, contributing to the distinct and high-performance look. Furthermore, a black-anodized emblem with the N brand’s fresh identity highlights the sporty image of this model.
