Toyota is all set to introduce an all-new SUV in the Indian market which it is co-developing with Maruti Suzuki in the country.
As per recent spy shots and reports, the SUV is to be named as the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. It is expected that the ‘HY’ in the name denoted the Hybrid characteristics of the vehicle.
The new SUV is reported to be based on Suzuki’s Global-C platform which has been utilized on the Vitara Brezza, Ciaz and S-Cross in the past. The Suzuki version could also replace the Vitara sold in the international markets.
While we will have to wait till 1st July 2022, when the vehicle will be officially unveiled by Toyota, here is an unofficial render by automotive artist SRK Designs.
As can be seen in the making video of this rendering, the artist has chosen the global Suzuki Vitara to start off with and then has proceeded to paste a Toyota Venza’s face to it. After a lot of brushing and tweaks on Photoshop, we get to see the final result.
The new Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder SUV will receive split style headlamps with the DRLs placed on top. The 5-seater SUV is expected to be feature rich and available at a competitive price. The Hyryder will compete directly with the likes of the Mahindra XUV700, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier, MG Hector and Jeep Compass.
