Tata Nexon EV Coupe Concept debuts unofficially in this digital rendering

Tata Motors is developing new electric vehicles s as part of its plan to continue its rapid growth and be a leader in India’s developing electric car market.

The company will introduce as many as 10 new EVs, through its newly created subsidiary, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. (TPEML). TPEML will be responsible for the designing, manufacturing, and developing of hybrid electric vehicles and electric vehicles. Recently, Tata Motors joined forces with TPG Rise Climate to raise a fund of Rs 7,500 crore along with its co-investors.

Tata Motors is looking to capitalize on the Nexon EV’s phenomenal success by developing a larger, all-electric coupe version as a key model in its EV lineup. The new model will also be available with a petrol or diesel engine option as well.

While there has been no showcase of a concept model or any test mules spotted yet, here we have an artist’s impression about how the new Tata Nexon Coupe could look like.

Created by SRK Designs, the Tata Nexon EV Coupe clearly has been inspired by the Tata Sierra EV SUV Concept showcased at the Auto Expo 2020. Along with the all-new Sierra inspired face, the major change happens from the B-pillar onwards where the SUV gets a coupe like silhouette.

This styling is very popular among luxury car makers. We have earlier seen examples like the BMW X6, Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe and also the Audi Q5 Sportback models.

The Tata Nexon Coupe is said to share the same platform as the current Nexon but will get an extended rear end. This means that unlike the current model which enjoy tax benefits of being under 4 meters, the new model will be priced in the leagues of the Hyundai Creta or Kia Seltos.
