Honda CB500X launched in India; Priced at INR 6.87 Lakh

Expanding fun culture at a quick pace in India, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt Ltd has once again wowed adventure seekers with its latest offering – Honda CB500X.  The parallel twin compact adventurer from Honda will make its way to the Indian market through CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route.

Taking style cues from the legendary Africa Twin, the new CB500X blends rugged lines with an aggressive stance.

Full LED lighting – including both headlamp and tail lamp ensure no path is dark for the rider to navigate through. Compact signal indicators and clear screen tail lamp gives CB500X a sporty outlook.

Its diamond-shaped steel-tube mainframe ties to the engine with four mounts, resulting in a rock-solid foundation for superior riding, handling and 181mm ground clearance. CB500X capitulates to rider’s control by placing the heavier part closer to center of gravity and engine in close proximity to the swing arm pivot point. All of this offers a tuned rigidity balance ensuring outstanding feedback while riding.

The long-stroke 41mm front suspension enhances the riding dynamics of the motorcycle, thus providing ultimate riding experience to the rider.

Honda Pro-Link rear suspension with 9-stage spring preload adjustment provides comfortable ride over uneven roads. The shock absorber features large-diameter internals for even better damping characteristics and smoother ride. Face the winds on your way in style through a tall windscreen that gives supreme protection and extreme ride ability.

Making CB500X a perfect companion on every terrain are the strong yet lightweight multi-spoke cast-aluminum wheels (19-inch front and 17-inch rear). The CB500X seat offers an open, unrestricted riding position that is perfect for both touring and daily commuting. Stop at traffic lights or in parking lots with ease through narrow seat shoulders and 830 mm seat height that make it easier to put feet down.

The CB500X comes equipped with the smart ESS (Emergency Stop Signal) technology that detects sudden braking and automatically activates the front and rear hazard lights, which flash to warn nearby vehicles.

The CB500X features Honda Ignition Security System (HISS) theft deterrent, reinforced handlebar lock structures, and strengthened key cylinders ultimately giving peace of mind to the rider.

A negative display LCD meter provides good visibility. The advanced information displayed like Gear Position Indicator, Engine Temperature Indicator, ABS indicator keep the rider updated in any given riding environment.

CB500X employs Dual Channel ABS that instills a greater confidence when brakes are applied in emergency or when operated on slippery roads. The front 310mm and rear 240mm drilled petal-style disc brakes maintain efficient braking control over a wide variety of riding conditions.

The lively 8-valve liquid-cooled parallel twin cylinder engine delivers max power of 35kw@8500rpm and max torque of 43.2Nm @ 6500rpm. Usable power and torque offered across the range makes CB500X a perfect motorcycle for city riding as well as a powerful machine for the rough terrain.

Being the youngest member of adventure bike family, the CB500X features Assist/Slipper Clutch, which eases upshifts and manages rear wheel lock-up on hard down shifts while deceleration. The free-revving engine mated with a slick 6-speed gearbox promises a thrilling ride both on and off road.

The upswept exhaust brings upon the adventure side of the motorcycle and helps going through rough and water filled trail rides. The muffler internal chamber has been engineered for efficiency and tuned to add a crisp grunty exhaust note to the riding experience.

The new Honda CB500X will be available in two color options – Grand Prix Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic.
