Kia Motors has launched the all-new Kia Sonet. This is the company’s third product for the Indian market after introducing the Kia Seltos and the Kia Carnival.

The new Sonet is a sub-4m compact SUV that will be competing with the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Honda WR-V and the upcoming models such as the Toyota Urban Cruiser and Nissan Magnite.
Kia Motors had showcased the Sonet Concept at the Delhi Auto Expo in February 2020 which was followed by the global unveil of the production-ready model through a digital presentation in August 2020.
The Kia Sonet will be offered with three engine options. These include a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine.
The 1.2-litre petrol motor makes 82 BHP @ 6300 rpm and 115 Nm @ 4200 rpm. It is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
1.0-litre turbo petrol engine produces 118 BHP @ 6000 rpm and 172 Nm @ 1500-4000 rpm. This motor has an options of either a 6-speed iMT or 7-speed DCT.
The 1.5-litre diesel engine comes in two states of tune. The first option is coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox and produces 99 BHP @ 4000 rpm and 240 Nm @ 1500-2750 rpm and is paired with.
The engine with variable geometry turbocharger (VGT) produces 113 BHP @ 4000 rpm and 250 Nm @ 1500-2750 rpm. This powerful engine comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Some of the key features of the Kia Sonet include LED Headlamps with DRLs, Bose Premium 7-speaker system with Sound Mood lights, 10.25–inch HD Touch Screen infotainment system with Navigation, 16-inch Crystal cut alloy wheels, LED Tail lamps, Electric Sunroof, 4.2-inch colour display.
The sub-4m compact SUV also comes with Front Ventilated Seats, Air Purifier, Multi-Drive Modes and Traction Modes, Remote Engine Start, 6-airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), ABS, Hill-Assist Control (HAC) and Vehicle Stability Management VSM
The Sonet also comes equipped with UVO which allows the user, 57 smart ways of staying connected with their vehicle. UVO’s advanced technology includes AI Voice Command and OTA map updates.
2020 Kia Sonet Colour Options:
The new Sonet will be offered in eight monotone – Glacier White Pearl, Beige Gold, Steel Silver, Gravity Grey, Intense Red, Aurora Black Pearl and Intelligency Blue. It also comes in three dual-tone options – Beige Gold with Black roof, Intense Red with Black roof and Glacier White Pearl with Black roof.
