No, the 7-seater Tata Harrier is not going to be called the Tata H7X or Tata Buzzard and certainly not the Tata Cassini. The new upcoming flagship SUV from Tata Motors has been christened as the Tata Gravitas.
This will be the second vehicle built on the OMEGA (Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced) Architecture- , which is derived from Land Rover’s legendary D8 platform. Tata Motors says that the Gravitas will set international level benchmarks in terms of performance, driveability and luxury.
The Tata Gravitas is the 7-seater version of the Tata Harrier. The new SUV was showcased at the 89th Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) as the Buzzard concept. Feature-wise, the Gravitas is expected to carry the same equipment as that available on the Harrier. The powertrain options would very likely be the same but might get come with a higher output.
Tata Motors could also provide an optional automatic transmission with the Gravitas at the time of the launch.
