Ford has commenced the sale of CNG variant of new Ford Aspire in India. The compact sedan is available in Ambiente and Trend Plus trims. It features the latest sequential technology kit and a first in segment suspension type cylinder fitment which frees up boot space for better cargo management.

Ford claims that the CNG-powered compact sedan will offer the lowest cost of ownership and is offered with a standard two-year or 1,00,000 km standard warranty. The Aspire CNG has a scheduled service interval of one-year/10,000 km, while the CNG kits will have to be serviced once every two-years or 20,000 km.
The CNG kit will not come factory fitted but rather will be done at the at the company’s dealerships. This kit will be fitted to the 1.2L Ti-VCT Petrol Engine. While power and torque figures when used in CNG mode haven’t been mentioned. The 1.2-litre motor churns out 96 PS and 120 Nm when used with petrol.
The Ford Aspire CNG is also said to be the only CNG powered compact sedan to offer two front airbags as standard. The CNG kit in the Aspire will be integrated with the engine control unit (ECU) to ensure optimized gas flow in each cylinder. Special engineering elements such as front stabilizer bar have been added to accommodate extra CNG cylinder weight and ensure the best handling and ride comfort.
The car will also offer a host of convenience features, including embedded satellite navigation, an infotainment system with 7-inch touchscreen & Bluetooth connectivity, rear-view camera, remote central locking, automatic air conditioner and power windows among others.
