The Suzuki Hayabusa is one of the most iconic motorcycles and enjoys a wide base of loyalists and enthusiasts globally and is known for its high speed and sportiness.

The Suzuki Hayabusa 2019 edition will be offered in two new colour schemes – Metallic Oort Gray and Glass Sparkle Black with updated graphics, and an added pair of side reflectors for Indian conditions.
Power for the Hayabusa comes from a 1340 cc four-stroke, fuel injected, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that produces 194 bhp of maximum power. The motor has been engineered to deliver a broad wave of torque for effortless acceleration.

The engine gets Forged Pistons and PVD-coated rings. It is also fitted with tapered, 44mm double-barrel Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) throttle bodies. The superbike also gets the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (S-DMS) system, which allows the rider to select one of three engine control maps to suit personal preferences.

Stopping power comes from the lighter and more rigid than conventional bolt-together callipers. The Hayabusa’s top-of-the-line radial-mount Brembo Monobloc front brake callipers deliver better feedback to the rider.

The piston diameters were enlarged from 32-30mm to 32-32mm. Larger pistons help apply greater force to the brake disc, which results in increased initial bite and a more controlled feeling. A single-piston, pin-slide TOKICO rear brake calliper works with newly equipped ABS. The rear disc is 260mm in diameter and 5.5mm thick.

The sports bike rides on KYB inverted cartridge forks which feature a Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC)coating surface treatment on the 43mm stanchion tubes to reduce friction and increase reaction to small surface irregularities. The forks provide front wheel travel of 120mm. Spring preload, compression damping and rebound damping are fully adjustable.

The motorcycle is equipped with the Bridgestone BT-015, which is specially developed for the motorcycle. The tire’s profile and compound were developed through a variety of testing to achieve a high level of stability and handling.

The advanced aerodynamics of the superbike add to superb wind protection both for normal and completely tucked-in seating. Extensive wind tunnel testing with a rider onboard helped to find the ultimate shape for high-speed riding. The radical aerodynamic styling and smoother bodywork not only gives the Hayabusa its unique look but also protects the rider from the wind and improves fuel efficiency.

Commenting on the launch of 2019 Suzuki Hayabusa, Mr. Satoshi Uchida, Managing Director, SMIPL said, “For 20 years, Suzuki Hayabusa has been one of the most loved sportsbike among the enthusiasts for almost two decades and has received an excellent response in India. It is our constant endeavour to offer great products, and we are pleased to launch the 2019 edition of Hayabusa in two new colour schemes appealing to a larger fan base and enthusiasts in India.”

This is probably the last set of Hayabusa bikes to hit the market as Suzuki has announced that they have stopped the production of this most loved superbike which has been in the market for the last 20 years. The company is probably working on the next-gen model which will be more powerful and advanced version.
