Royal Enfield has launched the much-awaited Continental GT 650 motorcycle in the Indian market. The bike has been priced starting from INR 2.65 Lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. Along with it, the company has also launched the new Interceptor 650. The bikes were first unveiled at the unveiled at the 2017 EICMA or Milan Motorcycle Show.

The new Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 Twin is inspired from the cafe racers and cafe culture of the 1950s and 1960s. It recaptures the spirit of the original Continental GT 250. It retains the classic horizontal split running through the motorcycle which separates the mechanical details from the elegant forms of the fuel tank and the seat.
The new Continental GT 650 features a sculpted tank, with a weight-forward stance and comes with rear set footrest and clip-on handlebars. This gives the bike the traditional cafe racer look and put the rider in a classic sporty riding position.
The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 Twin features a twin cradle, tubular steel frame, designed from scratch in conjunction with the legendary Harris Performance. The motorcycle weight 198 kg (no fuel) and has a seating height of 793 mm with a ground clearance of 174 mm.
The new Continental GT 650 motorcycle gets its power from the all-new 648 cc twin cylinder engine which makes 47 hp @ 7250 RPM and a torque of 52 Nm @ 5250 RPM. This motor is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch which has an assist feature.
The retro looking bike gets 41 mm front forks with 110 mm of travel while the rear gets twin gas charged coil over shocks with 88 mm travel and has a 5-stage pre-load adjustment.
The Continental GT 650 runs on 18-inch 36 spoke aluminium alloy rims. which gives it an authentic classic look. Both the wheels are shod with Pirelli Phantom SportComp tyres (100/90 at the front and 130/70 at the rear) which have been specially developed for the new Royal Enfield Twins.
Stopping power comes from the twin piston ByBre (By Brembo) callipers which grab a 320 mm floating disc in the front and a 240 mm one at the rear. The bike also gets Bosch dual-channel ABS.
