The Skoda Kodiaq RS has been revealed. The high-performance model is the Czech brand’s first ever SUV to bear the RS initials. The Skoda Kodiaq RS also holds the lap record for seven-seater SUVs on the Nurburgring’s Nordschleife with a time of 9 minutes, 29.84 seconds.
The Kodiaq RS is fitted with the most powerful diesel engine in Skoda’s history. The new 2.0 BiTDI twin-turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine produces 239 PS of power. The power from this engine is distributed to all four wheels via the intelligent all-wheel drive 7-speed DSG gearbox. Also making its debut in a Skoda vehicle is the Dynamic Sound Boost. This offers a particularly emotive engine note to the Kodiaq RS.
The Skoda Kodiaq RS can accelerate this sporty SUV from a standing start to 100 km/h in just 7 seconds and achieve a top speed of 220 km/h. The engine of the Skoda Kodiaq RS also features advanced technologies such as direct injection, a Stop-Start system and brake energy recovery. It also has a sophisticated thermo-management system, which swiftly brings the engine up to operating temperature once the ignition is switched on.
The Kodiaq RS also comes with the adaptive Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) as standard which comes with 6 modes – Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport, Individual and Snow. This allows the driver of this high-performance SUV to adjust the settings of shock absorbers as per his/her preference and the respective terrain at any time.
In terms of looks, the designers at Skoda have worked towards giving this sporty SUV a dynamic appearance. The Skoda Kodiaq RS features newly designed front and rear bumpers along with gloss black finish on various parts such as the front grill, roof rails and outside rearview mirrors.
The Kodiaq RS also gets 20-inch Xtreme alloy wheels which are also a first time in a Skoda vehicle. The look is completed with the new vRS logos. The initials appear on the radiator grille and at the rear of the SUV.
Inside, this seven-seater SUV gets Perforated Alcantara and carbon leather seat covers with RS-specific stitching in red in a diamond-cross design and a matching red surface with the new vRS logo below the integrated headrests. The vRS logo also appears on the gearshift knob.
The door trims, made using Perforated Alcantara get contrasting, black, diamond-cross stitching. The multifunction sports steering wheel with a vRS logo features contrasting red stitching, as do the armrests in the doors.
The Kodiaq RS also gets door sills featuring the Kodiaq logo and the LED package with ambient lighting. It even gets a black roof lining and pedal covers made from stainless steel which completes the sporty appearance of the SUV.
The instrument panel gets a carbon fibre finish. The Kodiaq RS comes with a Virtual Cockpit as standard and is available in a carbon optic. It also offers a fifth display mode which features the rev counter and the current speed in the centre. Other information, such as the radio station or navigational instructions, is displayed smaller.
The Skoda Kodiaq RS also combines sportiness and comfort. It gets an electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory function and tinted windows (Sunset) which come as standard. An optional personalisable key saves, the seat position and driving profile, and automatically applies these settings when the car is opened.
The SUV also features the Bolero infotainment system which provides excellent sound. Customers can also opt for the optional Amundsen and Columbus systems which allow Skoda Connect mobile online services to be accessed via the Internet.

There is a USB port and a 230-V socket on the back of the Jumbo Box between the front seats. The In-Car-Communication system makes it easier to chat to passengers in the second and third rows of seats via the infotainment system.
Being a Skoda, the Kodiaq RS offers Simply Clever features such as a removable and retractable load cover, and various nets for stowing and securing luggage.
