New Nissan Kicks for India unveiled; Will be launched in January 2019

Nissan has its latest SUV for India. The company has only revealed the exterior of the new Nissan Kicks and will soon relay more information closer to the launch date. The SUV is expected to hit the showrooms by January 2019.

2018 Nissan Kicks India-spec Front Quarter

The Nissan Kicks sports a unique wider and robust style which is underlined by a Dynamic Sonic Plus line Wheel-oriented Stance and a Distinctive 3-dimensional presence. The India-spec Kicks measures 4384 mm in length, 1813 mm in width and 1656 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2673 mm.

The new Kicks offers a host of established design signatures and features seen on the new generation Nissan cars. These include the Floating Roof Design created by blacked-out pillars. It also gets Stylish Roof Rail, Signature LED DRL, Shark Fin Antenna, Front Fog Lamps and Door Mounted ORVS with Indicators. The bold V-motion grille another signature motif in Nissan’s design language adds to SUV’s distinctive presence. The uniquely designed headlamps and tail lights feature iconic boomerang-shaped LED signature lamps to add character.

The powerful, wheel-oriented stance is further enhanced by 17-inch 5 spoke machined-alloy wheels. The bold styling with dynamic stance and glamorous fender arch bring out the solidity and elegance in the new Nissan Kicks while substantial face and back style provide a masculine and rugged presence.

The body of the Nissan Kicks is designed and built with GRAPHENE (Gravity-philic Energy Absorption) Body Structure, which has an inherent capability to absorb impact energy. The company claims that this makes the new Kicks SUV Stronger, Safer and Durable on Indian roads.

A thing to note is that the Nissan Kicks for India is different from the global variant. While it looks almost similar, the Made for India SUV is bigger in size. It utilizes the B platform, unlike the global model which sits on the newer V platform. When launched, the Nissan Kicks will be competing with the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Renault Captur and the upcoming Tata Harrier and Kia SP SUV.
