Hero Destini 125 Launched in India; First Scooter to feature ‘Idle Start-Stop’ System in the country

Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer has launched the new Destini 125 scooter in India. The Hero Destini 125 is also the first and currently the only scooter in India to feature the idle start-stop-system – based on Hero’s i3S technology.

Hero Destini 125 Chestnut Bronze Rear Left 2018

The Destini 125 is powered by a new 125cc Energy Boost Engine. This motor produces a power of 8.7 bhp @ 6750 rpm and a torque of 10.2 Nm @ 5000 rpm. It has a claimed fuel economy stands at 51.58 kmpl and the scooter is said to reach a top speed of 85 km/h.

The scooter also gets a Digital-analog Speedometer, Side Stand Indicator and Service Due Reminder. Other features offered with the new Destini 125 include External fuel filling system, Remote key opening, Mobile charging port and Boot light. It also comes with a bold premium Chrome Chest at the front, Signature Tail Lamp & Winkers, side chrome garnishes, stylish Cast wheels, body coloured mirrors, and a dual tone seat cover.

The scooter gets a telescopic front suspension and spring-loaded hydraulic damper at the rear. Stopping power comes from 130mm drum brakes on both ends with Integrated Braking System (combi braking system). The scooter runs on 10-inch wheels which are wrapped in 90/100 section tyres.

The new Hero scooter is available in 4 paint finishes – Noble Red, Chestnut Bronze, Panther Black and Pearl Silver White.

The 125cc segment, in particular, has been expanding at a rapid pace, witnessing a growth of over 75% year-to-date this fiscal. The 125cc segment, therefore, is a focus area for us and we are strategically following a multi-brand approach in this space.
