Ferrari, the Italian supercar maker has launched the Portofino in India. This convertible model which is the replacement for the Ferrari California T, gets its name from one of Italy’s most beautiful towns which is a charming tourist port and a fishing village on the Italian Riviera coastline. Ferrari has also dedicated a colour to this town and named it as Rosso Portofino.

The 2018 Ferrari Portofino is claimed to be one of the most powerful convertibles which combines the advantages of a retractable hardtop along with a big boot and spacious cockpit. It can accommodate 4 passengers, though the rear seats are good for shorter distance only.
Under the hood of the Portofino sits the renowned Ferrari V8 turbo engine. This 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 engine produces 591 BHP @ 7500 rpm and torque of 760 Nm @ 3000-5250 rpm. It is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Ferrari claims that the Portofino can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 320 km/h plus. It is also the first Ferrari roadster to be equipped with the third generation electronic rear differential (E-Diff3) and Electric Power Steering (EPS).
The Ferrari Portofino also gets magnetorheological damping system (SCM-E) with dual-coil technology. This reduces roll while simultaneously improving absorption of road surface unevenness thereby providing a more dynamic, responsive and comfortable car.
