Tata Motors has launched the new Tiago NRG in India. The Tata Tiago NRG is SUV inspired vehicle which Tata Motors likes to call as an ‘Urban Toughroader’.

The Tiago has been a successful product from Tata Motors and this new variant is the company’s attempt to attract a new set of customers who follow an active lifestyle. Soon, the automaker will also introduce the Tata Tiago JTP model which is aimed at enthusiasts who crave for performance.
The new Tata Tiago NRG comes with a number of changes most of which are on the looks department. At the outside, it gets an armoured front-end design with a tough side profile that is highlighted by unique squircle (square + circle) wheel arches. It also gets a muscular finisher on the rear tailgate and rugged skid plate on the rear bumper. Adding to its rugged looks are the dual tone 4-spoke DurAlloy wheels and Infinity black roof with roof rails.
Inside, the Tiago NRG comes with active black interiors with vibrant Canyon orange highlights. The seats with body-hugging bolsters feature a unique denim inspired fabric. The hatchback also gets the 5-inch smart touchscreen infotainment system by Harman which features Voice command for media, radio and phone along with Navigation with 3D Navi maps. The Tiago NRG also boasts of class-leading 8 speaker setup by Harman something which even cars in a higher segment don’t get.
Other notable features available with the car include a cooled glove box, large boot with 242-litre space, Dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and Corner Stability control, Reverse parking assist, Smart rear wiper, Follow-me-home lamps and Driver seatbelt reminder.
In terms of mechanical changes, the Tata Tiago NRG is quite similar to the regular hatchback variant apart from specially tuned suspension for rough road terrains which raise the ground clearance to 180 mm to take on tough road conditions.
Power for the Tiago NRG petrol comes from the 1.2L Revotron engine while the diesel variant is powered by the 1.05L Revotorq engine. Both these motors are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Tata Motors is not offering an AMT equipped variant even though it provides the same on the regular variant.

The Tiago NRG is available in three colours – Canyon Orange, Malabar Silver and Fuji White.
