BMW Motorrad India has launched the BMW G 310 GS in the country. The adventure motorcycle has been priced at INR 3.49 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The company has also launched the G 310 R motorcycle.
The BMW G 310 GS has been engineered by BMW Motorrad in Germany and is built at the TVS Motor Company factory in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. It is available in three colour options – Racing Red, Cosmic Black, and Pearl White Metallic.
Power for the BMW G 310 GS comes from the same unit that is present on the BMW G 310 R and also on the TVS Apache RR 310. This single cylinder, 313 cc, liquid-cooled engine with fuel injection produces a maximum power of 34 hp @ 9500 rpm and a peak torque of 28 Nm at 7500 rpm. The adventure tourer weighs 169.5 kg and can reach a top speed of up to 143 km/h.
The motorcycle embodies the famous GS Spirit. It features the Flyline – the protective windscreen and the renowned GS ergonomics which allow the rider to enjoy the bike on any surface. High-quality design elements highlight the unmistakable GS look and provide additional protection.
Relaxed and stress-free riding is not a problem thanks to the typical GS sitting position. Handlebars, footrests and operating elements are arranged in a balanced way thus making it easily reachable for riders of all sizes. It also comes with a digital instrument cluster, rear luggage rack, and LED taillights.
The BMW G 310 GS is equipped with a long-travel suspension with a 180 mm spring travel. At the front, the bike gets 41 mm upside-down forks and a preload adjustable rear mono-shock. Braking power comes from a 300 mm front disc with 4-piston calliper and a 240 mm rear disc with single-piston calliper.
The G 310 GS rides on 19-inch alloy wheels at front and 17-inch at the rear which are wrapped in Metzeler tires. The adventure bike is available with a standard three years, unlimited kilometres warranty.
