A Tata Tiago JTP has been spotted by an Overdrive reader being tested. The car might be launched in the Indian market during the festive season.
The Tata Tiago JTP is a performance variant of the regular road car. At the 2018 Auto Expo, Tata Motors had showcased the Tiago JTP along with the Tigor JTP. Both these cars are a result of a partnership between Tata Motors and the Coimbatore based Jayem Automotives.
The Tata Tiago JTP which was showcased at the Auto Expo was equipped with an upgraded 1.2 L Revotron turbo petrol engine. This motor was said to produce 110 PS at 5000 rpm and 150 Nm of torque at 2000-4000 rpm.
The engine was coupled to a manual 5-speed transmission which has been optimized for superior acceleration and extraordinary performance. The ride height was also dropped by around 9 mm to improve handling.
The Tiago JTP which was showcased at the Auto Expo featured a new front bumper with larger vents, smoked projector headlamps, bonnet and fender vents, side skirts, redesigned rear bumper with a faux diffuser, twin exhaust tips, red painted ORVMs, black roof, and 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels.
Inside, the Tata Tiago JTP included two-tone black interiors with red trims on the aircon vents, contrasting red stitching on steering wheel, gear stick cover and seats which came with JTP branding. The hot hatch also featured aluminium pedals and the Harman infotainment system. It was also equipped with front airbags and next-gen ABS with EBD and Corner stability control.

The performance variant of the Tiago is expected to be priced between INR 6 to 7 Lakh ex-showroom.
