It seems Tata Motors is gearing up to the launch the performance variant of the Tiago. The Tata Tiago JTP was once again spotted while on test in Coimbatore by an IndianAutosBlog reader.
The Tata Tiago JTP was first showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. This is one of the first products to be developed under the new partnership between Tata Motors and the Jayem Automotives.
The company had also showcased a Tigor JTP variant at the auto show. We can expect the compact sedan to be launched after the Tiago JTP makes it to the market.
To distinguish the Tiago JTP from the regular model, designers have provided it with new sporty looking front bumper with larger vents. The rear bumper has also been redesigned and houses a faux diffuser.
The Tata Tiago JTP which was showcased at the Auto Expo also featured blackened projector headlamps, red painted ORVMs and a glossy black roof. The hatchback was also lowered by around 9 mm and was fitted with 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels.
The cabin of the Tiago JTP also had some unique touches such as red trims on the aircon vents, contrasting red stitching on steering wheel, gear stick cover and JTP branding on the seat headrests. The car also had aluminium pedals and the Harman infotainment system.
The main highlight of the Tiago JTP will be its performance. The car is equipped with an upgraded 1.2 L Revotron turbo petrol engine. This motor is coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox and churns out 110 PS at 5000 rpm and 150 Nm of torque at 2000-4000 rpm. The car also features dual front airbags and next-gen ABS with EBD and Corner stability control.

The performance variant of the Tiago is expected to be priced between INR 6 to 7 Lakh ex-showroom.
