Land Rover has announced the new Discovery Sport Landmark Edition to celebrate the success as the fastest-selling Land Rover of all time which also coincides with the brand’s year-long 70th-anniversary celebrations. The Discovery Sport topped Land Rover sales chart in 2017, selling 126,078 units.
The first model to be built on Land Rover’s 70th birthday on 30 April 2018 was a Discovery Sport. It was made at the Land Rover Halewood plant in Merseyside. This vehicle will be used to support a number of projects in 2018, starting with a community resilience project in Scotland which will be announced in June.
The Land Rover Discovery Sport Landmark Edition will be available in three colours – Narvik Black, Corris Grey and Yulong White and all of them will come with a Carpathian Grey contrast roof. The special edition also features a sporty and dynamic front bumper, with Graphite Atlas exterior accents. It also gets 19-inch Style 521 ‘Mantis’ wheels in Gloss Dark Grey.
Inside, the special edition SUV features Ebony grained leather seats and an Ebony headliner which are complemented by dark grey aluminium finishers around the centre stack. The SUV is available exclusively in the 7-seat version.
The Discovery Sport Landmark Edition is available with Land Rover’s clean and efficient 2.0-litre EU6 Ingenium engines in two variants- Td4 diesel or Si4 petrol. The diesel engine produces 180 PS and 430 Nm of torque, while the petrol engine develops 240 PS and 365 Nm of torque.
The diesel motor comes equipped with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 9-speed automatic transmission. The petrol engine is available with only a 9-speed automatic transmission. Both powertrains get the AWD system as standard.
All Discovery Sport powertrains are now equipped with particulate filters to further reduce emissions make them even cleaner.
