Powering the Mercedes-AMG S 63 Coupe is the new 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine which supersedes the previous 5.5-litre V8 biturbo engine and yet produces 20 kW more power. This new motor produces 450 kW of power between 5500-6000 rpm and 900 Nm between 2750-4500 rpm.
This two-door performance vehicle can accelerate from stand still to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds and can reach a top speed of 300 km/h which is electronically controlled with AMG Driver’s package. The engine is mated to the 9-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G transmission and it is efficient as well, thanks to the cylinder deactivation system.

With the vision of evolving continuously, it is our perpetual effort to bring in new technology and elements of luxury in our existing vehicles. Mr. Jopp further added, “Our strategy for Mercedes-AMG in India is to expand the performance segment and we have been highly successful in it. Also, with 7 unique AMG Performance Centers spread across key AMG markets, Mercedes-AMG has an unsurpassable market presence. A high degree of customisation options and introduction of innovative AMG Pit stops, ensure we offer them a delightful and exclusive ownership experience.”
At the front the new Mercedes-AMG S 63 Coupe gets the Panamericana radiator grille. The front apron resembles a hovering jet wing and is painted in vehicle colour. It is flanked by two large outer air inlets, which are outlined in high-gloss black. The three-dimensional front splitter with its aerodynamically shaped high-sheen chrome edge reduces uplift at the front axle.
The side skirts with three-dimensional inlays in high-sheen chrome give the performance vehicle a lower-slung look. The S63 Coupe gets 19-inch forged light-alloy wheels as standard. The powerful rear end of the S63 features an updated rear apron with diffuser insert and the redesigned twin tailpipes of the AMG exhaust system. The car also gets OLED (organic light-emitting diode) rear lamps.
The stylish character of the new S-Class Coupe from Mercedes-AMG is also evident in the interior. The AMG power sports seats with memory function and seat heating offer the driver and front passenger more lateral support. Nappa leather and AMG badges in the front and rear seat backrests create an exclusive atmosphere on board. Special touches include the embossed emblem on the armrest of the front centre console and the analogue clock in exclusive IWC design.
The three-spoke Performance steering wheel features paddle shifters, a distinctly contoured rim trimmed with perforated leather in the grip area, and a metal insert with AMG logotype. It is optionally available made of black nappa leather/DINAMICA microfibre. Those who seek further exclusivity can additionally customize this car with the our renowned ‘designo’ individualization selections.
Another hallmark AMG speciality are the displays. The 31.2 cm TFT wide-screen colour display reproduces round dials that provide information about engine speed, vehicle speed and lots of additional data. The driver has a choice of three display designs, “Classic”, “Sport” and “Progressive”. In addition, the AMG menu was expanded considerably. Among other things, it can display the engine and transmission oil temperature, lateral and longitudinal acceleration, engine output and torque, boost pressure, tyre temperatures and pressures as well as the current vehicle set-up.
The new Mercedes-AMG S 63 Coupe also features AMG speed-sensitive steering, AMG RIDE CONTROL+ suspension with variable damper control and AMG DYNAMIC SELECT with 4 driving modes – Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Individual.
The two-door sports car also gets Controllable AMG Performance exhaust system. The infinitely adjustable flaps modulate the exhaust note authentically and directly. The flaps open or close dependent on the selected AMG DYNAMIC SELECT driving mode, but can also be controlled individually with a separate button in the AMG DRIVE UNIT on the centre console.
Over and above the multifold safety features that come as standard, the S 63 Coupé comes with optional radar-based driving assistance system which helps to reduce the risk of accidents and enhance the protection of occupants as well as other road users.
The S63 Coupe is equipped with Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC which controls the distance to vehicles in front up to a speed of 210 km/h and if necessary brakes the vehicle with up to 50 per cent of the maximum braking power.
It also gets the Active Steering Assist which at speeds up to 210 km/h, helps the driver keep the vehicle in the centre of its lane on straight stretches of road or slight bends. The Active Braking Assist emergency braking function can help to avoid or lessen the consequences of accidents with vehicles in front and pedestrians. Blind Spot Assist can warn the driver of vehicles in the blind spot during a lane change.
