The second generation Suzuki Ertiga has already made its debut in Indonesia. The MPV is undergoing tests in India and is expected to launch soon. Recently a set of spy shots revealed the interior of the India-spec automatic variant of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
As can be seen in the images, the Ertiga for India, when compared to the Indonesia version, gets automatic air conditioning and a bigger touchscreen which is likely to be the 7-inch Smartplay infotainment system which Maruti Suzuki has been providing on almost all the top-of-the-line variants for its new cars.
Also seen in the image of this Ertiga is the automatic transmission. This is not the AMT or AGS unit and is likely to be the 4-speed auto box on the current model. It is expected that the second generation Maruti Ertiga will be powered by the new 1.5 L K15B petrol engine. Looking at the image, it also seems that Maruti will be offering the auto tranny on the topmost grade as well.
The cabin of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga will be finished in beige colour and also gets a faux wood trim on the dashboard and door panels. The 7 seater MPV also gets the new 3-spoke multi-functional steering. Cruise Control feature seems to be missing.
Outside, the new Maruti Ertiga is similar to the one launched in Indonesia. The vehicle is 99 mm longer and 40 mm wider than the current model. It features a wider front grille design which is connected to the new projector lamps and a dynamic looking front bumper with integrated fog lamps. The MPV also gets new split-type taillamp design with LED guide lights.
Power for the diesel Ertiga is likely to be provided by 1.3 L DDiS 200 motor just like in the current model. The petrol model is expected to get the new 1.5 L K15B engine which will make its debut with the new Ciaz. The new Ertiga could also come with a new 1.5-litre diesel engine developed in-house by Suzuki.
2018 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Price & Launch Date:
The new Maruti Ertiga is expected to be launched in August 2018. As for the pricing, this model could command a slight premium over the current generation. It is expected to be priced in the range of INR 7-11 lakhs (ex-showroom). Reports suggest that Maruti could retail the new Ertiga through their NEXA outlets.
