TVS Motor Company has launched the TVS Apache RTR 180 Race Edition in India. The motorcycle is priced at INR 83,233 (ex-showroom Delhi). This is the second Race Edition model from the company. Earlier it had launched the TVS Apache RTR 160 Race Edition as well.
The TVS Apache RTR 180 Race Edition features a Pearl White body colour and gets race-inspired graphics. It also comes with faux carbon fibre panels which according to the company denote light-weight attributes and racing intent.
The RTR 180 Race Edition also gets 3D TVS logo on the fuel tank and TVS Racing branded stickers on the alloy wheels. The motorcycle also has a digital instrument cluster with an analogue tachometer. The blue backlit display provides all the required information and includes functions such as lap timer, 0-60 km/h speed recorder and a service indicator as well.
Power for the Apache RTR 180 Race Edition comes from the 177.4 cc single cylinder air cooled engine. This motor is coupled to a 5-speed transmission and produces a power of 16.62 PS at 8500 rpm, and 15.5 Nm of torque at 6500 rpm.
TVS claims that the bike has best-in-class power to weight ratio. It can accelerate from zero to 60 km/h in 4.96 seconds and has a kerb weight of 137 kg only. Suspension duty is carried out by telescopic forks at the front and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear.
The RTR 180 Race Edition is equipped with a 270 mm disc brake at the front and a 200 mm disc at the rear as standard. TVS is not offering ABS on this model.
