The Mercedes-AMG E 63 S 4MATIC+ is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that generates 612 hp (450 kW) of power and 850Nm of torque, making it the most powerful E-Class ever made. This engine is mated to a 9-speed AMG Speedshift Multi-clutch transmission and gets AMG Performance 4MATIC+ permanent all-wheel drive with variable torque distribution and drift mode.

The Mercedes-AMG E 63 S 4MATIC+ can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds, making it the quickest car in the entire Mercedes-AMG line-up. The top speed is limited to 250 km/h but can be increased to 300 km/h by opting for the AMG Driver’s package.

The expressive exterior design of the AMG E63 features a new radiator grille with twin louvres in silver chrome, vertical black struts along with a coupe-style inset bonnet. The wheel arches are 17 mm wider to accommodate the greater track width and the larger wheels on the front axle.

At the side, the arrow-shaped wing signet in silver chrome bears the three-dimensional “V8 BITURBO 4MATIC+” lettering. The E63 S 4MATIC+ runs on tyres of sizes 265/35 ZR 20 at the front and 295/30 ZR 20 at the rear which are mounted on 9.5 J x 20 (front) and 10 J x 20 (rear) 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels, painted matt titanium grey with a high-sheen finish.

A new design of 20-inch cross-spoke forged wheel, which looks as though it is centrally locked, is available as an option. The side sill panels make the AMG E 63 S 4Matic+ appear to sit even lower on the road and elongate the overall line.

The muscular rear end provides the finishing touch in conjunction with the clearly defined spoiler lip in the colour of the vehicle on the boot lid, the rear apron with diffuser-look insert, and the two bright chrome-plated twin tailpipe trim elements on the selectable sports exhaust system. It also features a trim strip in silver chrome on the rear apron.

The Mercedes-AMG E 63 S 4MATIC+ also gets cylinder deactivation system and the exciting drift mode function which when activated makes the E 63 a purely rear-wheel drive vehicle. The performance saloon is also equipped with active brake assist, which is a radar-based driver assistance system, 7 airbags, Multibeam Intelligent Light System, AMG Dynamic Select drive programs with “RACE” drive program and AMG Sports Suspension based on Air Body Control.

The car also comes with an even simpler RACESTART function, Rear differential lock, dynamic engine mounts, AMG Sport speed-sensitive steering and AMG high-performance braking system. Mercedes-Benz will also offer numerous customization options offered through “Designo” for the new E63.

2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 S 4MATIC+ Side

“The Mercedes-AMG E 63 S 4MATIC+ is the ultimate interpretation of a luxury performance saloon. We believe it is the world’s most intelligent executive saloon – in its sportiest form. To be precise, it is the most powerful E-Class in history. Never before has there been such an extensive and radical transformation from one model generation to the next. The new E 63 S personifies driving performance, whether one wants to dwell in the comfortable rear seats and head to work or take the front seat and boss this beast around, we are happy to offer our patrons the best of both worlds. My personal favourite feature of this super saloon is the ‘drift mode’, which comes as standard. Wondering how a 4MATIC will drift? Well, thanks to the fully variable torque distribution. With this new generation of the E 63 S, our renowned AMG engineers have left no stone unturned in satisfying the needs of those ardent petrol heads/performance enthusiasts,” said Mr. Roland Folger, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India.

Roland Folger further added, “Our AMG strategy in India has been very well received by our discerning customers. From the track to the tarmac, to tricky terrains, we broke lap records, introduced never seen before variants and drove past our competitors in some style! We offer to our AMG customers, a large variety of cars to choose from. We offer at least one model each from the ‘43’, ‘45’ ‘63’ and GT model range in India. We believe a key factor to grab the attention of Young Indians is not only for a Mercedes-Benz but also for an AMG. The average AMG customer age in India is 30 years, which is a notable 7 years lesser than that of an average Mercedes-Benz buyer. We will be launching many more AMGs and dream cars through the year, so do stay tuned to Mercedes-Benz.”
