Mahindra has launched the facelifted model of its flagship SUV – the XUV500 in India. The 2018 Mahindra XUV500 has been priced at INR 12.32 Lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). The SUV now comes with a bold new design, plush, luxurious interiors and higher power and torque.

The XUV500 facelift model features new bold chrome grille with chrome inserts, redesigned headlamps with horizontal LED DRLs, 18-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and newly designed split tail lamps.
The new model also gets a redesigned tailgate which comes with a chrome applique and new aerodynamic rear spoiler. The SUV also gets dual colour ski-racks, revised D-pillar applique, chrome door sills and dual tone skid plate.
Inside, the 2018 Mahindra XUV500 model gets Luxurious Quilted Tan Leather Seats, Soft-touch Leather on Dashboard and Door-trims Industry-First Smart Watch Connectivity, Industry-First, Connected Apps & Ecosense Technology and Arkamys Enhanced Audio.
Power for the 2018 Mahindra XUV500 comes from the updated 2.2 L mHawk155 engine which makes 155 bhp at 3750 rpm and 360 Nm at 1750-2800 rpm. There is also a petrol variant on offer powered by a 2.2L engine that churns out 140 bhp of power and a torque of 320 Nm at 2000-3000 rpm.
The diesel motor comes which a choice of 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission while the petrol is offered with only the automatic gearbox.

Customers can choose from 7 attractive colours – Crimson Red (new), Mystic Copper (new), Pearl White, Volcano Black, Moondust Silver, Opulent Purple and Lake Side Brown
Other features of the XUV500 include Electric Sunroof with Anti-pinch, 6-way Power-adjustable Driver’s Seat, First-in-class Logo Projection Lamps on ORVMs, 7-inch Touchscreen Infotainment with GPS Navigation, USB Audio/Video/Picture Viewer, Bluetooth, iPod Connectivity, AUX Input, Reverse Parking Camera with Dynamic Assist, Android Auto and Connected Apps.
The SUV also comes with Tire-Tronics (Tyre Pressure & Temperature Monitoring System), Push Button Start / Stop, Passive Keyless Entry, Smart Rain and Light Sensors, Cruise Control, Brake Energy Regeneration System, Voice Messaging System, Voice Commands with Voice Recognition and SMS Read Out and Mahindra BLUE SENSE Technology.
Safety wise the XUV500 offers 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP with Rollover mitigation, hill hold and hill descent control and disc brakes on all wheels. In addition, the XUV500 also offers the first-in-class safety feature of Emergency Calling.
