Volkswagen Polo now comes equipped with 1.0 Litre MPI Engine; Prices remain same

Volkswagen has introduced a new 1.0 L MPI engine for the Polo in India. The new engine option will replace the 1.2-litre all the naturally aspirated petrol powered variants of the VW Polo and be available across all MPI engine trims.

The new three cylinder 1.0 L MPI engine produces a peak power of 56 kW (75 hp) and a torque of 95 Nm. It also has an improved fuel efficiency of 18.78 kmpl (as per ARAI). Prices remain the same with the Polo Trendline starting from INR 5,41,800 (ex-showroom).

The VW Polo has captivated audiences, globally for over 40 years. Since its launch in India in 2010, the Polo has continued its reign of success in India as well with its charismatic and lively persona.

Volkswagen India will also continue to sell the much the Polo GT TSI with the 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 7-speed DSG gearbox which produces 108 bhp of peak power and 250 Nm of peak torque.

Customers looking for a diesel variant have the option of a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine which comes in two specs. The standard model makes 89 bhp of peak power and 230 Nm of peak torque while the GT TDI makes 108 bhp peak power and 250 Nm. Both models come with a manual gearbox.
