Mahindra Automotive North America (MANA), part of the Mahindra Group and Mahindra’s North American automotive headquarters has unveiled the Mahindra ROXOR – a new, off-road vehicle.
The Mahindra ROXOR creates a new sub-category in the Side x Side powersports segment. Unlike the plastic-bodied, belt-driven vehicles in this segment, the ROXOR features a steel body on a boxed steel frame, a heavy-duty Mahindra turbo-diesel 4 cylinder engine, and an automotive style 5-speed manual transmission.
The ROXOR is based on the Mahindra Thar and was conceived, designed and engineered in Metro Detroit by Mahindra Automotive North America. It will be produced at the Detroit facility as well. Its design is inspired by the Willys vehicles. 70-years ago Mahindra had the license to build the Willys Jeep for the Asian Market.
The Mahindra ROXOR measures 148-inch in length, 62-inch in width and 75-inch in height. It has a wheelbase of 96-inch and a ground clearance of 9-inch. It has a fuel capacity of 12 gallons and towing capacity of 3490 lbs.
The ROXOR is powered by Mahindra’s 2.5-litre M2DiCR turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine. This motor generates 62 hp at 3200 RPM and 144 lb.-ft. of torque at 1400-2200 RPM.

The engine is coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission and a DANA T-18 2-speed manual transfer case sends power to the wheels. The off-road vehicle has a top speed of 45 mph and maximum tow speed of 15 mph.
At the front, the ROXOR gets rigid leaf spring suspension with stabilizer bar and at the rear, it gets leaf spring with double acting shock absorbers. The off-road vehicle runs on 16-inch wheels which are fitted with 235-section tyres. At the front, it gets 9-inch disc brakes while the rear gets 11-in drum brakes.

Mahindra ROXOR Price & Launch Date:
The ROXOR will have a base price of USD 15,499 (approx. INR 10 Lakh). The company is yet to announce its launch timeline. The off-road vehicle will be sold North American market through new 300 powersports dealerships.
