So it’s been 2 years since I got my Maruti Baleno Alpha Petrol home. Till date the car has served me well and I do not have much to complain about. She hasn’t thrown any tantrums and has always started which the first push of the button.

I recently got its 4th service done which is the 2 year or 20000 km one and renewed the insurance as well. I got the service done at a new exclusive NEXA Service Center in Mumbai and it was a great experience.
The service included the change of engine oil, oil filter, drain plug with gasket, coolant and brake oil. The cost was around INR 4600 which included labour charge of INR 2000 and other was for the parts.
Finally! Baleno gets Android Auto:
I also got the SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system OS updated from the version 750 to version 1750. Finally, I can now Google Maps directly on the screen with my phone connected as the new version brings Android Auto connectivity with it. I’ll try and spend some time with the Android Auto feature and share my thoughts on it later until then I am happy that at least it is running Google Maps flawlessly.
My Baleno Suspension Gets Updated:
One complaint that I have been making since I first got the car was that the suspension is a bit harsh. It seems Maruti also knows about the suspension issue with the Baleno and is now solving it by replacing the old parts with the updated ones that comes on the newer vehicles.
There is a cut-off number based on the vehicle chassis number which is being checked to know if the particular car could be having an issue or not. My car was checked and was verified by the service advisor for the suspension upgrade.
Almost after a month of wait, the parts arrived and I got them changed. I haven’t driven the car much after the update but initial impression driving within the city is that the bumps are not felt much. Unlike the earlier setup which was stiff and every road undulation was felt inside, with the new one you do hear the thud sound but the ride is a bit more comfortable. Still need to take a long highway drive and see how the new setup performs.
My Nexa Service Experience:
Now coming to the service experience. I had booked an appointment at the NEXA Service Dadar, which I think is the only one in Mumbai as of now. The facility is huge and has ample parking space and is very clean. As soon as the car was driven to its gate, the poles opened up after reading the RFID tag on the windscreen. At the same time, a dedicated inspection area displayed the car’s number on the LED screen where one has to park his/her car.
The experience was same as the one I had got a tour of from Maruti at Gurgaon except this facility didn’t have the ability to watch your car being service while sitting inside the Customer’s lounge but it did have some great refreshment from Cafe Coffee Day on offer. Also currently the ability to watch your car being serviced live is not active. The system is in place but needs to be activated which might happen soon. Once this facility is functional you would be able to watch the car being worked upon live on your computer or smartphone from anywhere.

And yes, you can get any of your Maruti Suzuki cars repaired or serviced at the NEXA Service Center. It is now exclusive to the cars sold under the NEXA channel. So be it an Alto or Swift or the Vitara Brezza, you can take an appointment and get it done at these new stations.
