The Kawasaki Z900RS is a perfect mix of old school charm and modern features. It pays homage to the original king of cool – the Kawasaki Z1 from the 1970s’. The motorcycle features the iconic teardrop fuel tank and oval LED taillight.

While most of Kawasaki’s Z superbikes feature an edgy design, the Z900RS uses rounded elements to emulate the retro-style design of classic motorcycles. The Kawasaki Z900RS also comes with LED headlight and a multi-function LCD screen which sits between the dual analogue-style speedometers and tachometer dials.

“We decided to launch Z900RS, as there is eagerness and excitement among our smattering Indian customers for this high range premium product. We hope that Z900RS will create a league of its own,” said Mr. Yutaka Yamashita, Managing Director of India Kawasaki Motors.

Based on the Kawasaki Z900, power for the Z900RS comes from a liquid-cooled 948cc In-Line Four-cylinder engine. This motor produces 111 PS at 8500 RPM and 98.5 Nm at 6500 RPM. The engine is coupled with a 6-speed transmission with assist and slipper clutch. Kawasaki Traction Control (KRTC) and Antilock Braking System (ABS) are standard.

Also for the first time, Kawasaki has conducted sound research to create an ideal exhaust note for Z900RS. In India, the classic Z900RS will be available only in the two-tone Candytone Brown / Candytone Orange shade.

The Z900RS features Kawasaki’s Horizontal BackLink rear suspension and 41 mm inverted fork with at the front. It also gets dual 300mm brake discs with radial callipers for the front and a single 250mm brake disc for the rear.
