Ford has launched a new variant of the EcoSport in Brazil. The Ford EcoSport Storm is a more rugged looking variant and also comes equipped with an all-wheel-drive system. This is a limited edition and only 100 units are available for sale.
The Ford EcoSport Storm now sports darkened Xenon headlamps with LED DRLs, 17-inch alloy wheels finished in Dark Grey and a custom grille with ‘STORM’ embossed onto it similar to what Ford provides on the Raptor pickup.
The new variant also gets redesigned bumpers with silver colour skid plates, protective body cladding on wheels and side skirt and a roof rails with cross bars. It also comes with Storm branded decals, Black mirrors and handles along with a ‘STORM’ badged wheel cover.
Inside, the Ford EcoSport Storm edition gets Ebony Black leather seats with Satin Orange stitching. It also features orange accents on the centre console and door panels which enhance its sporty looks. It is also equipped with an electric sunroof.
Under the hood of the Ford EcoSport Storm sits a 2.0-litre flex-fuel engine that produces 176 hp and 221 Nm of torque when using ethanol and 170hp and 202Nm of torque when running on petrol.
Power from the engine is sent to all four wheels via the 6-speed automatic transmission and the all-wheel-drive system. Paddle shifters are offered as standard on this variant. The addition of the 4WD system has added another 110kg over the standard model.
Other features include automatic headlamps, a multifunction steering wheel with reach and rake adjustment. It also gets a height adjustable driver seat, an 8.0-inch Sync3 touchscreen infotainment system with navigation along with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility.
The EcoSport Storm also includes ABS with EBD, Electronic stability control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), hill-assist, an anti-rollover system and parking assist with a reversing camera.
