Maruti Suzuki India Limited, one of the largest car manufacturer in the country has released a new teaser image of the Future-S Concept. This concept has been designed in-house by Maruti Suzuki designers and gives us a glimpse of how the new compact cars from the company will look like.
The Future-S Concept is said to be the showstopper for the 2018 Auto Expo. The company will also showcase its first Concept EV, the e-SURVIVOR and a working model of the next generation Suzuki Hybrid system (HEV). The all-new Maruti Swift will also be officially launched at the event.
In the new teaser image, a glimpse of the front end look of the Maruti Suzuki Future-S Concept can be seen. The concept seems to take some inspiration from the Maruti Ignis and the new Swift. The production model of the Future-S Concept could be Maruti’s answer to the Renault Kwid, which has found a fan following for its tough SUV like looks.
The Future-S Concept features LED headlamps and LED tail lamps. The upright stance and a horizontal hood give the compact car a unique aggressive stance and posture, something similar to what we have seen on the Ignis. It will also have a high seating position along with a high ground clearance. The compact car features almost vertical A-pillar design and powerful looking shoulders.
While no technical details have been shared, it is very likely the production model of the Future-S Concept will be based on the latest Suzuki Heartect platform. Engine options could be borrowed from the existing lineup which includes the 1.2L petrol and 1.3L diesel motors.
The Future-S Concept will be showcased at the Auto Expo 2018 at the Maruti Suzuki pavilion which will be built around the theme of Transformotion and spread across 4200 sq mt. It will have the largest vehicle display with a spectacle of over 18 vehicle models on display in ARENA, NEXA and Motorsports zones.
