Ford has introduced the new and powerful 2019 Mustang Bullitt, celebrating the 50th anniversary of iconic movie “Bullitt” and its fan-favourite San Francisco car chase. While the price for this special model isn’t revealed, the first car fetched a whopping $300,000 at an auction, proceeds of which will go to the Boys Republic, a school and treatment community for at-risk youths.
The 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt will be available in two exterior paint finishes – Shadow Black and the classic Dark Highland Green similar to the one in the movie. It also gets subtle chrome accents around the grille and front windows, classic torque thrust 19-inch aluminium wheels and red painted Brembo brakes. The car has been debadged and features only the circular faux gas cap Bullitt logo on the rear center.
Inside, the Bullitt edition gets a white cue ball shift knob just like in the original model. The leather-trimmed interior features unique green accent stitching on the dashboard, door panels, center console and seats. The 12-inch digital LCD instrument cluster offers a unique Bullitt welcome screen that starts in green with an image of the car rather than the pony on the regular model.
Customers buying the new Mustang Bullitt get three factory-installed options. The Bullitt Electronics Package includes navigation, driver memory seats and mirrors, upgraded sound system and Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert. The other two options include MagneRide semi-active suspension system and RECARO black leather-trimmed seats.
Powering the 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt Edition is an upgraded 5.0-liter V8 engine which produces 475 hp and around 570 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 6- speed manual transmission. The new Mustang Bullitt can reach a top speed of 163 mph (262 km/h) which is 8 mph more as compare to the latest Ford Mustang GT model.

The vehicle packages all Mustang GT Premium and Performance Package content into a vehicle that maintains the original Bullitt’s understated persona. To give the car its signature burble it is equipped with an active valve performance exhaust system along with new Black NitroPlate exhaust tips. It also gets new Open Air Induction System and Shelby GT350 intake manifold with 87mm throttle bodies and powertrain control module calibration for optimal performance.
To launch the latest model at the North American International Auto Show of this iconic car, Ford created a special movie starring Molly McQueen, the third-generation member of the McQueen family. In the film, Molly raced the new Mustang Bullitt against a Dodge Charger inside a car parking building to win the final free space.
