Okinawa Autotech Pvt. Ltd. a 100% Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer has launched the Okinawa Praise electric scooter in the country. This is the second model to be sold by the company, the first being the Ridge a budget-oriented electric scooter.
The Okinawa Praise electric scooter is fitted with a 1000 watt electric motor which generates about 2500 watt of power (3.35 bhp). It is powered by a 72V/45 Ah VRLA (Lead Acid) battery which takes about 6-8 hours to charge. The company will also offer a lithium-ion version which can be charged in 2 hours.
The company claims that the Praise is the fastest electric scooter is India with a top speed of 75 km/h. On a full charge battery, the Praise has a range of around 175-200 km. The running cost is said to be around 10 paise per km.
The electric scooter comes with 3 riding modes: Economy, Sporty and Turbo. In the Economy Mode the Praise can reach 35 km/, in the Sporty mode it can do 65 km/h and in Turbo mode it can do speeds up to 75 km/h.
In terms of look, the Okinawa Praise scooter looks sporty and is offered in 3 two-tone colour options. It features full LED lights along with a DRL which enhances its appearance and gives it a premium feel. The electric scooter rides on 12-inch alloy wheels and is equipped with telescopic forks at the front which are finished in gold colour and dual gas-charged shocks at the rear.
Stopping power for the Okinawa Praise comes from dual disc brakes at the front and a single disc at the rear. It also gets Electronic Assisted Braking System (E-ABS) which regenerates energy while braking.
Other features of the Okinawa Praise electric scooter include a digital speedometer, side stand sensor, mobile charging socket, Anti-theft alarm, remote locking with Keyless start and Find My Scooter function.

The Praise electric scooter is available in three two-tone paint options: Glossy Purple with Black, Matte Blue with Black, and Matte Golden with Black.
Okinawa Praise Price:
The new Praise electric scooter is priced at INR 59,889 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Customers can book their scooter with an initial amount of INR 2,000.
Okinawa has also tied up with HDFC bank to allow customers in in Tier I, II and III cities to avail a loan of up to 80% of the on-road price.
