Land Rover has launched the 5th generation Discovery in India. The prices of the SUV start from INR 71.38 Lakh ex-showroom. The all-new Land Rover Discovery is the company’s most versatile SUV yet, with class-leading practicality and capability. It will be available in both petrol and diesel variants.

The new Discovery has a strong dynamic stance and is well proportioned. It features wrap-around LED lights along with a fast windscreen angle which gives it a contemporary design and powerful character. The cabin is highly modern in design and has space for 7 adults. The interior uses strong vertical and horizontal design lines which combined with high-quality materials and clever attention to detail lend the Discovery a sense of purpose. The light and airy feeling of the interior is further enhanced by the fixed or front opening panoramic sunroof.

Just like its predecessors, the new Land Rover Discovery features the stepped roofline. With the stepped roofline, the SUV is able to offer more headroom for adults across all the three rows of seating. Also, the stadium-style seating arrangement, with each row positioned higher than the one in front ensures that every passenger has the best view of the road ahead.
The new Land Rover Discovery also features the world’s first Intelligent Seat Fold system. This system enables configuring the seating arrangement from inside the vehicle opening up more space for luggage when required. The tailgate of the new Discovery can be easily opened using Gesture Control by waving of a foot on either side of the SUV.
The new Discovery also has a dual-purpose powered Inner Tailgate which retains loose items when raised and turns into a comfortable event seating when lowered bearing up to 300 kg. The SUV has best-in-class storage solutions and offers more capacity than ever before. It includes extra deep consoles that can store up to five mini-tablets and two-liter bottles in the armrest storage with the chiller. Nine USB ports located across the SUV make sure that all passengers can keep their devices charged while on the move.
The Auto Access height function utilizes the vehicle’s air suspension to lower the vehicle to make entering and exiting easier. Also available with the new Land Rover Discovery is the Activity Key. It is a durable, waterproof wristband that enables the owner to lock and unlock the vehicle without carrying keys.
The new Discovery also includes a range of advanced features to make every day driving easier. It comes equipped with Park Assist, Drive Pro Pack which consists of Lane Keep Assist, Driver Condition Monitor. Also available is Adaptive Cruise Control with Queue Assist, and 360° Surround Camera system amongst several other features.
For the first time, the Land Rover Discovery is available with Terrain Response 2 as an option. The All-new Discovery also come equipped with Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control and Gradient Release Control. The permanent four-wheel drive comes with a choice of two intelligent systems – a single speed transfer box for optimal on-road conditions or a two-speed box for challenging conditions.
Other features included in the new Land Rover Discovery are Electrically Adjustable Steering Column, InControl Touch Pro with 10-inch touch Screen and Meridian Surround Sound System, Heated and cooled front and rear seats with heated third-row seats and four-zone climate control system. It also gets Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Electric Parking Brake (EPB), Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Roll Stability Control (RSC) and Rollover Deployment of Restraints.
