Ford India has unveiled the new EcoSport in a unique way. The new Ford EcoSport was unboxed by Siddharth Vinayak Patankar of CarAndBike.com and Mallika Dua an actress and a comic artist in an exclusive video. The 2017 Ford EcoSport gets a host of new features along with a new look and powertrain options. The compact SUV will be officially launched by next month.
Ford Europe had created a similar video for the unboxing of the Ford Ka+ (export variant of Ford Figo) which was done by with Lewis Hilsenteger from Unbox Therapy and actress Joanna Page from the BAFTA award-winning BBC comedy “Gavin & Stacey”.
The new Ford EcoSport will be powered with a 1.5L engine in both petrol and diesel options. The petrol variant will be powered by the all-new 1.5-litre Ti-VCT engine which produces 123 PS and 150 Nm of torque. The diesel model will be powered by the 1.5-litre TDCi motor that develops 100 PS and 205 Nm of torque. Both engines will be mated with a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. The petrol model will also be available with a new six-speed automatic gearbox.

The 2017 Ford EcoSport now gets a bolder looking front end which is dominated by the hexagonal grille and larger projector headlamps with Daytime Running Lamps (DRL). The bumper has been redesigned and now houses bigger fog lamps. The SUV looks aggressive when seen head-on thanks to the sculpted bonnet.
Nothing much has changed at the side and the rear of this compact SUV. The new EcoSport now comes with revised roof rails and larger 17-inch wheels for the top-end variant. It also gets a redesigned rear bumper. It still retains the spare wheel on the tailgate, unlike the international model.
Inside, the new Ford EcoSport gets a major upgrade. The winged shaped center console is replaced by a more minimalistic and horizontal layout. Gone are the various buttons and in its place comes an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment with Microsoft’s Sync3. It also supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity with smartphones.
The new Ford EcoSport will also get 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, Traction Control and ESP and Ford’s Emergency Assistance system. Other features will include Cruise Control, Hill Launch Assist, Rain-sensing Wipers, Auto-dimming Mirror, Rear View Camera with Parking sensors, Keyless Entry and Push-button Start.
More details about price, variants, colours, features, and specifications will be revealed once the new EcoSport is launched in India.
