Tata Nexon, the much-awaited compact SUV from Tata Motors has been launched in India at an introductory starting price of INR 5.85 Lakh. It will be available in both petrol and diesel variants across the 650 Tata Motors authorized sales outlets in India. The lifestyle SUV will come in 4 trims – XE, XM, XT and XZ+.

The Tata Nexon petrol variant is powered by the 1.2L, turbocharged, Revotron engine that generates power output of 110 PS and 170 Nm of torque. The Tata Nexon diesel variant is powered by the 1.5 L turbocharged Revotorq engine that produces a power output of 110 PS and 260 Nm of torque. Both engines come with a 6-Speed Manual Transmission.
The new Nexon also comes with first-in-segment Multi Drive Mode function which allows the driver to seamlessly switch between the three different drive modes – Eco, City and Sport. The Tata Nexon is the fourth car based on the IMPACT design philosophy and is the last vehicle to utilize the X-platform which will be replaced by the Advanced Modular (AMP) Platform AMP for future products.

The Tata Nexon also features a 6.5-inch display HD touchscreen floating display, which is another first-in-segment. The screen adds to the premium feel of the interiors of the Tata Nexon. The location of the is such that it is easy to access and is in line with the driver’s vision so as to reduce the eye-off road time.
Customers of the new Nexon will be able to enjoy the advanced HARMAN infotainment system with a drive mode based HMI theme. The system produces home theatre quality sound, thanks to the 8-speaker system with high-fidelity audio reproduction and harmonic richness. Users can also connect their smartphone with the system via Android Auto or Apple Car Play.
Some of the key features of the Tata Nexon includes Coupe Inspired Aerodynamic Shape, Projector Headlamps with Feline-Eye Shaped Daytime Running Lights, Rear Split LED Tail Lamps, Signature Ivory white accents, Contrast Roof and 16-inch machine-cut alloy wheels.

Inside, the Nexon SUV comes with a layered Three-Tone Dashboard, Grand Central Console which is inspired by luxury cars and intelligently designed 31 utility spaces. It also features Electric Power Steering with Phone and Media Controls, 6-way adjustable driver seat and 60:40 split rear seats, Automatic Climate Control and Smart Key and Push-Button Start.
Other features include ConnectNext App Suite, Door open warning, Parking brake release alert, Seat belt reminder, Low fuel warning and Service reminder. The compact SUV is also equipped with ABS with EBD, Reverse Parking Assist, Dual Frontal Airbags, Energy Absorbing Body Structure, Adjustable Seatbelts, ISOFIX mounts and Dual-Path Suspension.

The new Nexon will be available in 5 exterior colours – Moroccan Blue, Vermont Red, Seattle Silver, Glasgow Grey, and Calgary White
The Dual tone scheme is only available with Vermont Red and Moroccan Blue colours.
