Skoda Auto India pays homage to the Monte Carlo Racing Tradition by launching the Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo Edition in the country. The special model is available with both diesel and petrol engine variants and customers can choose between manual or automatic transmission options.
Featuring the new design language the Skoda Monte Carlo comes with black radiator grille, black wing mirror housings along with the rear black tailgate spoiler. The Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo also features dual tone 16-inch alloy wheels and Monte Carlo badges on the B-pillars. The rear black grained diffuser enhances the sporty character of the car.

The interior of the Monte Carlo pays homage to Skoda’s Motor Sport heritage. It sports a 3-spoke flat bottom steering wheel which is covered in black perforated leather and gets red stitching. The gearstick knob is also wrapped in black leather and gets red decorative stitching. The leatherette seats come in a black and red design with grey vertical stripes.
The front door sill bears the Monte Carlo lettering while the black floor mat feature black decorative stitching. To enhance the sporty character the car comes with ribbed stainless steel pedals and a sporty graphic instrument cluster.
Powering the Skoda Monte Carlo are the new-generation petrol and diesel engines we get with the regular Skoda Rapid. The 1.5 litre TDI engine produces 110 PS of power and a torque output of 250 Nm. This engine delivers a fuel efficiency of 21.72 kmpl with DSG and 21.13 kmpl with the manual gearbox.
The 1.6-litre MPI or the Multi-point Injection engine with Dual Overhead Camshaft (DOHC) 16 valves, delivers 105 PS of power and a peak torque output of 153 Nm while delivering fuel efficiency figures of 15.41 kmpl with the manual gearbox and 14.84 kmpl with the automatic transmission.
The Skoda Monte Carlo comes with ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), daytime running lights, three-point seat belts and two- airbags as standard. Additionally, it comes equipped with, ESC (Electronic Stability Control) and Hill Hold Control in the automatic variants.
Other key features of the Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo include Automatically dimming rear view mirror, Anti Pinch windows, Rain Sensing Wiper system, Cruise Control, Parktronic Rear Parking Sensors, rear view camera, central locking system with remote control, a multifunctional display, height-adjustable driver and front passenger seats, Climatronic technology along with adjustable dual rear AC vents, cooled glove box, adjustable headrests, foldable armrests and storage pockets on the back of the front seats.
The Skoda Monte Carlo also comes with ‘Drive’ – the state-of-the-art 6.5-inch, colour touchscreen infotainment system. The Drive comes equipped with SmartLink which ensures seamless connectivity with your smartphone and the ability to control selected apps like navigation from the infotainment screen.
The system also supports USB, AUX-in, Bluetooth and SD Card. All the installed applications are certified as safe for vehicles and are compatible with MirrorLink, Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

The Skoda Monte Carlo will be available in two dual- colour options – Flash Red with black roof and Candy White with black roof.
