Maruti Suzuki, the biggest car manufacturer in India has launched a new more sleek, elegant and sporty form of its popular sedan, the Ciaz. Based on the top-spec Alpha variant the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz S will be available in both petrol and diesel trims.
The 2017 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz S gets a sporty look thanks to the body kit which consists of front, side and rear skirts along with a rear wing spoiler. Inside, the Ciaz S is offered with an all new premium black interiors with grey chrome finishing.
The Maruti Ciaz S will be offered in 7 exterior colours which include Pearl Sangria Red, NEXA Blue, Pearl Snow White, Metallic Silky Silver, Pearl Midnight Black, Pearl Metallic Dignity Brown and Metallic Glistening Gray.
“Ciaz has established itself as one of the most progressive brands of Maruti Suzuki and has sold over 1.70 lakh units of Ciaz cumulative since its launch in October 2014. Introduction of Ciaz S will further strengthen the position of Ciaz in the market by catering to the requirements of a younger yet premium customer who believes in the sporty spirit of life,” said, Mr. R S Kalsi – Senior Executive Director (Marketing and Sales), Maruti Suzuki.
Mechanically the Ciaz S has no changes. The petrol variant continues to be powered by the 1.4-litre VVT engine that produces 92 hp at 6000 rpm and 130 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. The diesel model gets its power from the DDiS 200 motor with Smart Hybrid technology which generates 90 hp at 4000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 1750 rpm. A 5-speed manual is standard for both engines while a 4-speed Automatic gearbox is offered with only the petrol engine.
A few of the Key features of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz S include Projector Headlamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, Smart Key with Push Start/Stop, Automatic Climate Control, Electrically Adjustable and foldable ORVMs, SmartPlay Infotainment System with Navigation and Reverse Camera and Auto Day/Night IRVM.
Currently, the Maruti Ciaz is the best-selling sedan in the A3+ segment. It enjoys a market share of 43.5%. The Ciaz Diesel Smart Hybrid is India’s most fuel efficient car with a mileage of 28.09 kmpl. The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz also complies with frontal offset, side impact and pedestrian protection regulations that will soon be introduced in India. It also comes equipped with dual airbags, seat belt pre-tensioner with force limiter, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX as standard features.
