Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), the country’s second largest car manufacturer and leading passenger car exporter has launched the much-awaited 5th Generation Hyundai Verna. The next gen 2017 Hyundai Verna was launched at an introductory price of INR 7.99 Lakh onwards and is available in 12 variants.
The 2017 Hyundai Verna now looks more sporty and aggressive. It comes with the new signature Cascade grille with horizontal chrome slats and chrome border along with Projector Headlamps with LED DRL and LED fog lamps which lend the car a premium appeal.
The side profile is designed with a sense of coupe like silhouette. The sloping window chrome beltline and the 5 Spoke Diamond Cut 16-inch alloy wheels boosts style quotient. The car measures 4440 mm in length, 1729 mm in width and 1465 mm in height. It features a wheelbase of 2600 mm.
The new Verna now comes with dual tone rear bumper and split type LED Tail lamps with LED guides. The sloping roofline is fitted with a Shark fin antenna. The aerodynamic design elements have increased the overall stability of the car and lowered the coefficient of drag to 0.308.
The interior of the new 2017 Hyundai Verna is a perfect blend of premiumness and convenience. The all new driver-oriented layout along with ergonomically located controls provides a comfortable driving experience.
The new Verna comes with sporty dual-tone beige and black interiors and is equipped with a 3.5-inch Supervision Cluster, Rear Adjustable Head Rest, Sliding front centre console armrest, Cooled Glove box and Leatherette Upholstery with soft pad door arm rest. It also boasts of an enhanced boot capacity of 480 litres.
The new Verna is equipped with a host of premium and first in segment features. The sedan comes with Front Ventilated Seats which keep the seats cool in hot weather and Smart trunk that automatically unlocks and opens when the owner is within 1 m behind the vehicle with the smart key for more than 3 seconds. The car also gets an Electrically Controlled Smart Sunroof.
The 2017 Hyundai Verna gets an advanced infotainment system with 7-inch IPS touchscreen. This Audio Video Navigation System (AVN) is equipped with Apple Carplay, Android Auto and Mirror Link. It also comes with 6 speakers along with smart surround system by Arkamys.
Other features include Fully Automatic Climate Control with Cluster Ionizer, Rear AC Vents, Cruise Control, and Engine Start/Stop Button. The new Verna also comes with Hyundai Auto Link which helps the owner to stay connected with his/her car. With just a click of a button, the car’s health check, Driving information, Road side assistance, Driving History, Eco Driving and Vehicle Health history all can be checked.
Powering the new Verna is the 1.6L Dual VTVT Petrol and 1.6L U2 Common Rail Technology VGT diesel engine. The 1591 cc petrol unit produces 12 3 PS at 6400 rpm and 151 Nm of torque at 4850 rpm. The 1582 cc diesel engine generates 128 PS at 4000 rpm and 260 Nm of torque. Both engines come with an option of either a 6-Speed Manual or a 6-Speed Automatic Transmission.
The next gen Verna is built on an all-new K2 platform similar to Hyundai Elantra which is said to offer a whole new level of ride comfort with smooth and precise handling. The platform also provides enhanced safety and reduces NVH levels.
The 2017 Hyundai Verna rides on McPherson Strut Suspension in front and Coupled Torsion Beam Axle (CTBA) with Vertical Shock Absorber along with Hydraulic Rebound Stopper (HRS) in the rear. This Hyundai says ensures a comfortable ride and stabilized driving.
The next gen Verna is built to comply with Hyundai’s strict safety standards. It utilizes a super body structure, 50% of which is made with Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS). The AHSS components increase the stiffness of chassis and protect passengers effectively in case of a collision. The Hot stamping on door pillars provides cabin protection in case of side collisions.
Other key safety features include 6 Airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX Child Restraint System, Impact Sensing Auto Door Unlock, Cornering Lamps, Reverse parking camera with steering adaptive guidelines and Rear Parking Sensors.
Hyundai is offering the new Verna with warranty of 3 Years Unlimited Kilometres, 3 Years Road Side Assistance, 3 times Map Updation and home visit on 15th Day of purchase for all the customers.
