Aprilia Shiver 900 and Aprilia Dorsoduro 900 launched in India with special introductory pricing

Piaggio Group has launched the Aprilia Shiver 900 and Aprilia Dorsoduro 900 in India. The bikes have been launched with special introductory pricing on limited units until June 30th, 2017.

Both these motorcycles will share the showroom floor with Aprilia’s existing superbikes portfolio of Tuono and RSV4 and will be available through the exclusive Motoplex outlets in Pune, Chennai, Kochi, Hyderabad and Bangalore.

The Aprilia Shiver 900 is a street fighter bike while the Aprilia Dorsoduro 900 is a more adventurous version of it. Both are based on the same platform and share many components and technology as well.

Powering both these motorcycles is an 896.1 cc, 4-stroke, liquid cooled, V-twin engine which generates 70 kW (95.2 HP) of power at 8,750 rpm and a torque of 90 Nm (9.17 kgm) at 6,500 rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

Braking power comes from the dual 320 mm stainless steel floating discs with four-piston callipers at front. At the rear, there is a 240 mm stainless steel disc with a single piston calliper. The bikes are also equipped with two-channel ABS system from Continental.

There is also a 4.3-inch large TFT screen with the ability to adapt the background and font colours based on the lighting conditions. Users can also connect their smartphones through the AMP kit and can access calling functions and audio files.

Other features on the Aprilia Shiver 900 and Aprilia Dorsoduro 900 include an advanced traction control system with an upgraded version of the ride-by-wire technology. The MotoGP-derived ride-by-wire technology has 3 riding modes: Sport, Touring and Rain.
