Ducati India has launched the new Monster 797 motorcycle in the country along with the Multistrada 950 bike. The 2017 Ducati Monster 797 will be the most affordable model in the Monster range and was first unveiled at 74rd International Motorcycle Exhibition (EICMA 2016).
The 2017 Ducati Monster 797 features a traditional tubular Ducati Trellis frame. The naked bike has been designed to look beefy. The fuel tank gets and an attachment clip at the front just like the one on the original 1992 Monster. The low seat, wide handlebars and a wide steering angle ensure agility in urban conditions and stability on highways.
The 2017 Ducati Monster 797 is powered by an 803 cc L-Twin cylinder, air-cooled engine which produces 75 hp of power at 8,250 rpm and 68.9 Nm of torque at 5,750 rpm. This engine is coupled with a 6-speed transmission and features competitive 12,000 km maintenance intervals.
The motorcycle is equipped with headlight with LED positioning lights and LED tail lamps. It also gets an easy-to-see LCD screen which provides various useful information to the rider. The Monster 797 also includes the hazard warning lights function, which can be activated by pressing the designated button.
The 2017 Ducati Monster 797 rides on upside down 43 mm Kayaba forks at front with 130 mm of travel and fully adjustable Sachs shock absorber at the rear which have a travel of 150 mm. The motorcycle is fitted with 17-inch lightweight 10-spoke alloy wheels which are wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Rosso II dual-compound tyres.
Braking power for the Ducati Monster 797 comes from dual 320 mm semi-floating discs with Brembo 4-piston monobloc callipers at the front and a 245 mm disc with Brembo calliper at the rear. The naked bike is also equipped with Bosch 9.1 MP ABS as standard equipment.
Ducati also offers the Monster 797 in a Plus version. The Monster 797+ features a distinctive look and is equipped with a flyscreen and passenger seat cover both of which are finished in the same shade as the tank.

2017 Ducati Monster 797 Price:
The Monster 797 is now available at an introductory price of INR 7,77,000 (Ex-showroom, New Delhi).
The motorcycle will be available at dealerships across Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Kochi. Ducati India has also tied up with HDFC bank to provide easy payment schemes with EMIs for the Monster 797 starting as low as INR 9,999.
