Jaguar Land Rover has launched the diesel variant of its entry-level luxury sedan the Jaguar XE in India. The Jaguar XE was the only car in its segment that did not offer a diesel option even though the demand for the same has been high.
The Jaguar XE Diesel is powered by the 2-litre Ingenium 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine which produces a power of 132 kW (180 PS) at 4000 rpm a torque of 430 Nm between 1750 – 2500 rpm. This engine is mated to an 8-Speed Electronic Automatic Transmission with Jaguar Sequential Shift.

The diesel derivative of the XE will be available in three variants – Pure, Prestige and Portfolio. Some of the key features of the baby Jaguar include All Surface Progress Control, Jaguar Drive Contro, Torque Vectoring by Braking, Sliding Panoramic Sunroof, Meridian Sound System (380 W), and 8-inch Touch Screen with InControl Touch Infotainment system.
The Jaguar XE also features 6 Airbags, Cruise Control and Speed Limiter, Emergency Brake Assist, Hill Start Assist, Dynamic Stability Control and Traction Control, Power Operated Child Locks, HID Xenon Headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lights, Automatic Levelling and Headlight washer, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Rear Parking Aid, Front Parking Aid, Surround Camera System and Jaguar Smart Key System with Keyless Entry.
The Jaguar XE diesel joins the petrol variant and will be sold across India through the 24 authorised retail outlets. It can also be booked online through www.findmeacar.in.
Currently, the Jaguar range in India including the XE consists of the F-Type, F-Pace, XJ and XF.
