Nissan India has announced that its premium and stylish sedan, the Nissan Sunny will now be offered at a very attractive starting price of INR 6.99 Lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi).
The reduction in the retail price is owing to the increased localisation which has cut down the cost of manufacturing the Nissan Sunny significantly. The company has decided to pass on these benefits to the customer and thus have a competitive price tag for its flagship Made in India sedan.
The new price also allows the company to pitch the Nissan Sunny as the most affordable sedan with a CVT transmission. Nissan India also offers its hatchback Micra with a CVT and that too has been priced competitively.
Powering this Nissan sedan is a 1.5L HR15 petrol engine that produces 99 PS and a 1.5L Pure Drive K9K dci diesel engine that churns out 86 PS of power. Both engines get a 5-speed manual transmission as standard along with a CVT gearbox as an option with the petrol engine.

The Japanese automaker is also hoping to lure customers lining up to buy a compact sedan with the reduced prices. It states with at a nominal incremental price, the customer can upgrade to a more spacious and premium sedan.
Some of the key features of the car include Intelligent Key, Keyless Entry, Rear-View Camera with Park Assist, 15-inch alloy wheels, Automatic Temperature Control, Electric ORVM, Auxiliary And USB Inputs Steering-Wheel-Mounted Controls and Bluetooth Hands-Free Phone System. It also features Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Dual front airbags and Engine Immobiliser.
