The 2017 Kawasaki Z250 was launched in India along with the Kawasaki Z1000 and Z1000R Edition models. It is presently the most affordable Kawasaki motorcycle in India.
The streetfighter bike gets its design inspiration from the larger models such as the Z1000 and Z800. The athletic body highlights the bike’s performance attributes and makes it stand out from the other naked models on sale in the country.
The new Kawasaki Z250 is powered by a 249 cc fuel-injected Parallel Twin engine which delivers 32 PS of power and 21 Nm of torque. This same engine does duty on the Kawasaki Ninja 250 and is coupled with a 6-speed transmission. It has been revised to meet the Bharat Stage IV (BSIV) emission norms.
Along with sharing the engine the Z250 also shares the chassis with the Ninja 250. The motorcycle has been designed to provide a high level of performance along with excellent ride quality. Upfront the 2017 Kawasaki Z250 rides on 37 mm telescopic fork suspension in front and adjustable Bottom-Link Uni-Trak suspension at the rear.
Braking power comes from a Dual piston calliper setup with 290 mm petal disc at the front and a 220 mm petal disc in the rear. Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) is not available, even as an option.
