The exclusive Ducati Diavel Diesel is now available in India on special order at Ducati dealerships across the country. This limited edition model was unveiled at the Milan Men’s Fashion Week 2017.
The Diavel is one the most successful Ducati models in India. It has now put on an exquisite avatar that seamlessly combines elements of the past and the future. It is a result of a creative collaboration between the Ducati Design Center and Andrea Rosso, Diesel Licensing Creative Director. Only 666 units of this unique motorcycle will be created.
Ducati India Managing Director Ravi Avalur, said, “A perfect amalgamation of Ducati’s signature design, safety and performance and Diesel’s craftsmanship and style, the Diavel Diesel is unique in every sense. With our collaboration with Diesel we’ve widened the potential interest in this limited edition motorcycle beyond the world of motorcycle connoisseurs to fashion and design aesthetes.”
The Ducati Diavel Diesel is defined by a hand-brushed stainless steel superstructure with visible welding and rivets that make it unmistakable and timeless. Details like the tank cover, headlight fairing and passenger saddle cover are examples of craftsmanship and style. The seat which is made of real leather is unique to this Diavel and bears the symbol of a pyramid with three equal sides identifying the three Ds of Ducati, Diavel and Diesel. Each bike also features a special plate on the frame bearing its serial number.
Other distinguishing features of this limited edition Diavel include covers of the side conveyors made in red methacrylate with the embedded Diesel logo. The red colour is also found on the front brake callipers, five chain links and the LCD instrument panel that recalls vintage digital displays.
The Ducati Diavel Diesel’s exhaust system is another detailed work of art that gets black Zircotec ceramic coating along with black billet end caps that also bear the pyramid logo. The standard equipment of the Diavel Diesel series also includes rear-view mirrors with billet sump and leg, specially designed bike cover and rear stand. The pyramid logo is also seen on the front mudguard.
The Ducati Diavel Diesel is powered by the Ducati Testastretta 11° Dual Spark engine. This engine delivers a power of 162 hp and torque of 130 Nm. The Ducati Diavel Diesel is also equipped with Ride-by-Wire management system and gets Riding Modes which offer a riding experience that is exciting yet safe and intuitive. The motorcycle is also provided with the Ducati Safety Pack (DSP), Bosch ABS and the Ducati Traction Control (DTC) with eight levels.
The seat of the Diavel Diesel offers generous space and is placed at a height of 770 mm from the ground, which, together with the handlebar set back, guarantees a pleasant and comfortable ride with the inimitable cruiser style.
On the front, the Diavel has a 50 mm fork with anti-friction legs in DLC diamond carbon. The fork is fully adjustable in the spring preload, compression and rebound. The rear monoshock acts on the single-sided swinging arm with progressive linkage and is fully adjustable for compression and rebound.
Stopping power comes from Brembo brakes with monoblock callipers driven by radial pumps. On the front, there are two semi-floating 320 mm discs which are paired with twin four-piston radial callipers, while on the rear the 265 mm disc is engaged by a two-piston calliper. The 240 mm rear tyre specially developed by Pirelli for the Diavel adds personality to the bike and at the same time allows for high levels of handling but also comfort for everyday use.
Darshan Mehta, CEO of Reliance Brands, said, “Diesel and Ducati share a common DNA. Of Bravery. In imagination. In detailing. In execution. Embodied in 666 limited editions of Diavel Ducati bikes. And equally in the Diesel Ducati limited edition merchandise that will hit Diesel stores worldwide in the summer of 2017.”
This is not the first time the two Italian iconic brands have come together. In 2012, Ducati and Diesel had collaborated and created a piece of art – the Ducati Monster Diesel. The lifestyle company will also be presenting a capsule apparel collection dedicated to Ducati of Jogg Jeans, leather jackets and t-shirts reflecting the DNA and roots shared by Ducati and Diesel.
