2017 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR has been officially launched in India. With the global production limited to 500 units, only a lucky few will be able to own this race-focused motorcycle.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR motorcycle is built upon Kawasaki’s World Super Bike (WorldSBK) Championship Experience. The motorcycle is prepared with race-derived upgrades and drops any unnecessary equipment for quicker lap times. The Ninja ZX-10RR is as close as one can get to a race-ready motorcycle that is road legal as well. It meets emissions regulations and features proper road lighting and an engine tune that is suitable for street riding.
The 2017 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR is designed as a single-seat model. The absence of passenger footpeg mounts and the rear seat, along with a lightweight exhaust mount, contribute to weight savings. The bike will be offered in Kawasaki Racing Team (KRT) Winter Test Edition paint scheme and features the same wind tunnel proven bodywork as its Ninja ZX-10R brother. The imposing flat black scheme features minimal white graphics, including a snowflake with the Japanese symbol for “winter”, on the rear seat cover and the windshield. Every model of the limited edition motorcycle will feature “RR” logos throughout the bike, it is stamped into the side cover and the ignition key, adding another special touch.
The background colour of the 2017 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR motorcycle’s LCD can be varied from black to white. The instrument cluster also includes an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) indicator, Launch Control, Quick Shift and Engine Braking activation, gear position indicator, Power Modes, S-KTRC modes, low fuel level, Economic Riding Indicator, intake air temperature, odometer, dual trip meters, average fuel consumption, instant fuel consumption and many other indicator lamps. A rocker switch placed on the left handlebar incorporates a select button to allow the rider to scroll through these functions.
The new Ninja ZX-10RR sportbike features a race-ready 998cc engine with new modified cylinder head, Diamond-like carbon coated tappets, stronger reinforced and highly rigid crankcase, a lightweight crankshaft, long-reach spark plugs. Power modes offer riders an easily selectable choice between Full and Low Power.
The bike is also equipped with Electronic throttle valves, Sport-Kawasaki TRaction Control (S-KTRC), the new Kawasaki Launch Control Mode (KLCM) and Kawasaki Engine Brake Control (KEBC). The titanium-alloy exhaust system of the Ninja ZX-10RR helps with weight reduction and mass centralization as well as the power to weight ratio by removing significant weight from the bike.
The Ninja ZX-10RR features the same great cassette-type, close-ratio transmission as the Ninja ZX-10R motorcycle with a slipper clutch. The gear ratios are idealised for circuit riding and also give stable downshifts. The sportbike rides on seven-spoke, multi-directional forged aluminium wheels, jointly developed with Marchesini which are fitted with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tires.
Ninja ZX-10RR is also the first mass-production motorcycle to be equipped with Showa Balance Free Fork (BFF). The rear shock absorber is a Showa Balance Free Rear Cushion (BFRC) unit that also resulted from joint development in World Superbike competition. The bike features revised front and rear suspension settings to match the performance upgrades and ensure smooth weight transfer during both deceleration and acceleration.
The Ninja ZX-10RR motorcycle has been fitted with a Brembo front braking system. This includes the very high specification M50 aluminium monobloc four-piston front callipers and cross-drilled Brembo front rotors. The Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake System come as a standard equipment.
The company will offer a wide variety of Genuine Accessories including Race Kit parts, to get the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR even closer to championship-winning race machine.
