Skoda Octavia RS 245 is the most powerful Skoda Octavia ever

Skoda Octavia RS 245 will make its world premiere at the 87th International Motor Show in Geneva.

Skoda Octavia RS 245 gets a power boost of 15 PS (11 kW) than the previous RS variant and now produces 245 PS (180 kW). The Octavia RS 245 is available in both a notchback and estate variant. 0 to 100 km/h can be reached in just 6.6 seconds (6.7 seconds for the estate model). The top speed is limited to 250 km/h.

The Skoda Octavia RS 245 features an all new front end design with sporty details. A wider radiator grille and the large honeycomb air inlets lend it a masculine and dynamic appearance. The radiator grille slats and outer frame of the radiator grille are finished in gloss-black. The outside rear view mirrors and the tailpipes also come in black.

The redesigned headlight clusters feature full-LED technology with Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS) as standard. The fog lights, tail lights and number plate light are also powered by LEDs. The RS logo featuring a gloss-black ‘V’ (for victory) features on the radiator grille and the tailgate. To complete the sporty look a rear spoiler (roof spoiler for the Combi) is provided.

The Skoda Octavia RS 245 features a sporty looking interior finished mostly in black. RS logo appears in the front seats as well as the door sills. Seats are wrapped in Alcantara and the multifunctional sports steering wheel with perforated leather. It also gets a choice of ten LED ambient lightning colours. A colour Maxi-DOT display forms part of the instrument cluster. Silver colour pedals in aluminium finish match the sporty interior.

Powering the new Skoda Octavia RS 245 is a four-cylinder, TSI petrol engine that produces 245 PS (180 kW) and maximum torque of 370 Nm is achieved between 1,600 and 4,300 rpm. For the first time, Skoda is offering a choice of a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed, dual-clutch transmission again a first for the Skoda Octavia.

The Skoda Octavia RS 245 is lower by 14 mm as compared to the normal variant. The rear track is also wider by 38 mm than that of the previous model. 19-inch gloss black alloy wheels come as standard.

Also as part of the package are ESC stability system with Sport mode and an electronically regulated VAQ limited-slip differential. Performance Mode Select with the Performance Sound Generator allows the driver to adjust the driving characteristics, chassis and comfort settings. The dynamic character of the Skoda Octavia RS 245 is additionally reflected by the car’s progressive steering and the optional adaptive Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC).

Driver assistance systems such as Trailer Assist, Predictive Pedestrian Protection as a component of Front Assist, Blind Spot Detect, Rear Traffic Alert, Manoeuvre Assist and Crew Protect Assist are also included. The Skoda Octavia RS 245 also features Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) which can be activated up to a speed of 210 km/h.

The 9.2-inch touch screen infotainment system on the new Octavia lets the passengers be always online with use of Wi-Fi hotspot and LTE module. The system also provides news and information on the weather, petrol stations along the route including fuel prices or parking spaces. POI (Point of Interest) can be searched via voice.

The Skoda Connect app provides Remote Access feature that can control the windows, doors, the sunroof and lighting. It can also display the fuel level or the parking location. Care Connect feature allows an emergency call to be made automatically in the event of an accident. The system also alerts the breakdown service at the touch of a button and connects the driver with experts who can help regarding vehicle functions.

The new Skoda Octavia RS 245 includes numerous ‘Simply Clever’ features like special bottle holders in the centre console, a heated steering wheel, a programmable key to allow up to three users to have their individual settings for the air conditioning, seats, the audio system’s volume and Driving Mode Select. The combi variant also gets a removable LED torch in the boot. Smartphones can be charged using the wireless charger.
