The 2017 KTM Duke 250 makes its debut in India. It was launched along with the 2017 versions of the KTM Duke 200 and the KTM Duke 390.
The Duke 250 is positioned between the KTM Duke 390 and the Duke 200. The KTM Duke 250 is designed on the lines of the bigger Duke bikes such as the KTM 1290 SuperDuke R. The 250 Duke is available in White and Orange colour schemes.
The 2017 KTM Duke 250 is powered by a 248.8 cc single cylinder, liquid cooled and fuel injected engine. The engine produces 30 PS of power and 24 Nm of torque and is coupled to a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. The bike has a power-to-weight ratio of 185 PS/tonne.
The KTM Duke 250 continues to get an LCD display like the one on the Duke 200. The bike comes with a halogen headlamp which also gets LED strips on the sides. The two-piece seat is designed to provide long-distance comfort, perfect support and first-class ergonomics for both rider and pillion.
The 250 Duke shares many of its parts with the bigger sibling, the 390 Duke. It gets the same 13.5-litre capacity steel fuel tank. The upside-down (USD) fork from WP Suspension using the latest open-cartridge technology in front are also the same as that of the 390 Duke.
The rear suspension utilizes WP mono shock absorber. The die-cast swingarm has been manufactured according to the same standards and principles as the one on the KTM 690 Duke R. It also features the side-sling exhaust which complies with the latest Euro 4 emission restrictions and sound regulations.
The KTM Duke 250 gets its stopping power from a 300 mm disc in the front with 4 piston callipers and a 230 mm disc brake in the rear. ABS is not present even as an option. Just like the Duke 390, this bike also runs on 17-inch alloy wheels but uses tyres sourced from MRF which are 110 mm wide at the front and 150 mm at the rear.
